The endeavor attracted a diverse group of people from all over the world. Who woulda’ thought that a space shuttle would cruise threw Inglewood and South Central Los Angeles. It was the most fun that I ever had on Crenshaw Blvd. I will cherish the memory of that day forever.

I was lucky to be part of this journey for Endeavor. I am not going lie, I cried when she started out from the hanger at LAX. To see her up close and her scars from many missions was awesome.

I worked around the shuttles for 18 years and it was amazing. I started with the Endeavor in 1992 and ended with her in 2011 and now she followed me here to Cali. It was a sad day when we got laid off and the retirement of the shuttles. It was something to be proud of.

When you get pulled over because you were going mach 23 in a school zone

Imagine having flown countless missions to space and back again, knowing that two others were lost in tragedies.. and then for your final voyage, you get to take a stroll through LA, with thousands bearing witness.. not a bad way to end such a career.

I saw this movie at the LA science center. So emotional. This is pure LA and USA 🇺🇸.

Of course they had to cut down some trees. It was really cool when one of its wings went over my head when I was in Crenshaw Blvd. to have that once in a lifetime experience was very cool. I love LA

Most beautiful couple of days in Los Angeles. So much joy and excitement. And that ship IS gorgeous! I've loved EVERYTHING about NASA, the space programs, JPL since I was a very little girl. And no day in Los Angeles, has been better.

What a mix of emotion - for a child who was roused in the night to gaze at Sputnick, to observe in my twilight, as this gallant explorer is gently navigated around a tree. To those who dreamed of her, built her, and sailed her ... you will always have the admiration of the world, and the thanks of your countrymen. To those who gave their lives so that others might explore heaven's realm - a grateful nation will never forget. Counting myself among a generation that witnessed miracles.

I saw it fly over when I was in 5th grade! All the classes went out and we ran as far as we could on the field to keep seeing it.

Magnificent tribute to the engineers, technicians, astronauts, scientists, and all the rest, who made possible our manned space exploration. A very moving video, beautifully done. And while it's sad to see the end of an era, I am confident that one day we will send man off to space again, to learn even more about the universe we live in.

The space shuttle is just sitting in the hanger like “I’m a airplane too”

I remember I was in school (5th grade) at break/recess when the announcement came on the PA system that the shuttle was going to fly over our school. Everyone got up and scrambled and ran to the large field despite being told to walk and watched waiting for the Endeavor to fly over us. Which a few minuets later. It flew right over us. I could see the window of it from where I stood in the sea of students, faculty and teachers. Year or so later i went to the exhibit where it now rests.

I remember going with my dad and little niece to watch it pass by in Crenshaw. The most iconic moment in my life!! Wish I didn’t lose the pictures.

The one and only thing on my bucket list, when I was young, was attending a shuttle launch. Unfortunatly cancer didn't let me fulfill my dream. Thank god for RU-vid

we had a great time working at there. And I miss everyone, we were a family and we'll never get that back again. At least we were part of history and we can be proud of that.

About time a space craft actually gets its own recognition parade. The Apollo 11 Astronauts got parades like this for almost a year all over the world. Astronauts are jockeys for these horses. The horse deserves some lovin' every now and then.

This is such a lovely montage. Beautiful, poetic, the music fits perfectly. Something about the contrast of a spaceship that is the culmination of the brightest of humanity - that can launch us to huge horizons unknown - being paraded through the city streets before the common man and woman for all to see. Beautiful. Bravo. Inspiring and uplifting! Makes me believe for a moment again in humanity’s better angels

Never thought space shuttle is soo enormous....it is a 20th century jewel, we have given to future generations to come

I saw this at the California Science Center this past Mon while seeing it in person. ^^

I was on the top level of the Disneyland parking structure the day she flew over and at the California Science Center when she arrived. (It was anticipated that she would arrive that night around 8, then it was changed to 10.. then they said the next morning. So I spent the night in my car in the parking structure at the Science Center lol) It was such an amazing thing to watch and experience.

Incredible that people are still watching this in 2020, myself included!!!!

i remember being a kid in school and everybody was talking about how the shuttle was going to come over our school and at lunch time it was about to come over and a hundred other kids and myself started running as the shuttle came over with two jets on its side it was the coolest thing

What a beauty. Still remember this. Every one of them should have had a homecoming trip like this.

Was I ever Impressed with the delivery of the space shuttle to a hangar. Could you imagine what it would have been like to hear a lot of people outside of your home, and this huge monster is in a narrow part of your street, slowly making its way past a tree so that it doesn’t get injured! Obviously, those driving it around town really know what they’re doing. So glad I got to see your video! Thank you!

I’ve seen Discovery at the Smithsonian, it’s quite awe inspiring to stand next to her. I should go pay Endeavor a visit.

That ship going through that neighborhood in inglewood. Makes me wonder if any kid growing up in that poor neighborhood saw that ship and was inspired in some way.

Glad I stayed up to witness that after getting off of work on a night shift. Got physically painful at one point trying to stay awake and a bit damp in the morning air, but it was worth it... Can't believe it's been *eight ( 8 )* years!

I'm grateful and appreciative that America decided to name two of their space shuttles after British Ships, HMS Endeavour and HMS Discovery, the Discovery still being a museum ship today, so thank you America.

When it was on the plane at first it flew over my school :D

I remember when this happened, I was in first grade and I was oblivious to the magnitude of this event.

Seeing it up close was such an experience to see how they towed it. Made the 8hr delay so worth it.

I remember when I was a kid, I saw this shuttle pass by Crenshaw mall, that thing was super huge.

I missed seeing the Nov 2012 fly-over at my work place in Tustin, CA.....I stood outside for about 15 mins....didn't see anything...so, went back to my desk........about 3 mins later,,,my co-worker comes up to me and said "ooohhh...WOW>..that was f*cking AMAZING, WHY didn't you come out to LQQK?".....OMG.....I burst into TEARS and was soooooooooooo pissed that I missed it.....a once in a lifetime event and I missed it by a FEW MINS......the rest of the day was ruined for me....didn't do any more work....was sooooo heart-sick and felt a major 'empty feeling'....many months later, hubby and I went to see Endeavor at the CA Science Ctr and once again,,,,,I got tears....but they were tears of JOY and PRIDE....soooo HUGE....sooooo elegant....soooo glorious....I took MANY pics...from every angle.......I was honored to be in 'her' presence.....I never felt more AMERICAN.......USA>..USA>..USA :)

Why’d they change the music on this video? The original track “Keeper of the Wind” was so much more fitting.

I remember exactly watching this video 10 Years ago with my dad
