I like how you explaining all this because the spacing in rec is the main reason I don’t play on my guard anymore, you can tell who got basketball iq and who don’t just how they space the floor.
facts I literally made a PG with zero dunks because you never get space to get to the rim in random rec floaters and mid range fades are the only way to play on a PG with randoms
What kills me is mfs have expectations of you as a Pg, and they don’t have those same expectations of themselves. They want you to make EVERY pass & when u miss them it’s an issue. Meanwhile mfs will miss EVERY SINGLE obvious pass theyre supposed to make. 2 on 1 fast break u break off to the 3pt line, instead of passing they take a contested layup and have the audacity to say “that should’ve been a dunk” 🤡
For me, it’s the point guards who do this. I’ll go 3/3 from three and not get passed the ball wide open in the corner for the next 2 quarters until the last 3 minutes of the 4th when we losing by 15.
1000 % spacing, situational awareness for every random. Also ppl make centers and don’t know what hedge defense is and don’t get me started on small guards setting picks with no brick wall 😂
Bro I just came across your video, I never usually comment and/or engage but I had to because I was actually glad someone finally shed light on spacing which is so crucial !! I took couple of notes from your tips and it works super well for me now. Keep the fire content, you just got yourself a new subscriber !
I love a good breakdown upload! I hope some of the randoms that don’t run guard watch so they know what us guards look for or how to help the team out.
Ngl your videos have helped me a ton as an off ball 2, like I’m so much better at scoring and shooting, and I’m not running around aimlessly. Just finding space or waiting for space.
🔥🔥🔥 content as always!! Whats crazy is i realized some of those constant picks could be a result of those rec quests. There are times the rec daily/weekly quest it will give VC for getting a certian number of picks. But the picks should still make sense instead of just random picks. Like I'll do an off ball pick to get someone else open to help the PG get an assist if they read it right.
Dimes, I see you. Love the videos, this 2k is more frustrating as a random than any other. I wish people understood the knowledge you kickin in these videos. Unfortunately they don’t.
Short and sweet of it is most 2K players don’t know ball…they just play the game without a clue. I do love the vids when Dime does the scoring. Time is ripe for a new Ballhog video where he shits on everyone
Love your video broski. But honestly I've been playing 2k for way to long and I realized that alot of people want to feel apart of EVERY play which is not good
Dime I love your content, and I really wish that you and Just Call Me Fear could do a collab in the rec as Dame and Giannis . You both are very talented and have similar mindsets.
My favorite example of rev randoms acting like idiots is on the fast breaks Sharps rim run or sit wing(with an open corner) Slashers sit on the wing or do anything but go to the rim(with an open paint or corner) If you sit wing(or set screens ON THE BREAK) on the same side of the court as the ball handler, you have stopped the fast break single-handedly and are ruining offensive possessions
I been having spacing issues since the start of season 2 and I'm understanding more why I don't like playing with some of my friends either. Niggas don't know proper spacing AT ALL. I don't mind screens but you HAVE to know how to set one. I can't try to get around you and my dude at the same time, even worse when niggas come up and set 2 screens. Now it's 6 niggas in the vicinity for no reason. Then when their terrible spacing takes away the middy I try to drive but mfs drive with me and crowd the paint. All I have is 2 terrible corner passes available or throw up a goofy
hey dime i been a fan for a while i love your playstyle it kinda reminds me of how i wanna play in real life i just wanna know how u got their. (how u learned the playstyle) i wanna get better at 2k
The problem is everyone wants to score, but they don’t know how to accomplish that without the ball in their hands. You can easily get 20 points by just simply spotting up in the corner or wing and being patient and passing the ball around. Or if your a post player or inside player you can also easily get a lot of points by simply playing the low post on the opposite side of the ball handler or setting screens.
Yow dime been a fan since last year watched all your videos but what release do you play on? I play on push and I find it super inconsistent to me and the others are just way too fast. Any tips?
not a lie told in this video. a major problem with rec randoms is everyone wants to be “that guy” too much ego involved when they see someone else dominating. IQ is non existent for a lot of players. nothing more annoying than losing a game that y’all easily should have won but people wanna be weirdos
Should 2k really penalize people for quitting? Like now it’s to the point where you get banned for a bit for closing app or disconnecting your internet. Let’s bring this issue to 2k because why should I be penalized for my random teammates acting stupid by burning up all the timeouts, calling timeout when you’re about to get a wide open dunk, getting 3 sec calls on purpose, and not playing offense and defense. I play no squads rec when my homies aren’t on… so when the randoms are sabotaging the game why can’t I just get up outta there and start up a new game like come on 2k.
Word. Spacing the floor and getting back on defense instead of tryin to get inbound steals every possession. Those two things alone could boost your win percentage.
@Dimework I got this 6'6 playsharpe I think you would like 92 mid and three 91 steal 74 PD 77 Lay 87 Pass 92 ball handle 85 speed with ball 89 speed and 83 acc 6'7 wingspan i kinda regret not doing some interior bc on other builds just hands up stop alot of drives from PGS
You can't just go in with anybody.. back out if there's two or more black/browns . I'm winning at a 70% plus clip with randoms like that fr. After I win 5 or 6 I'll give whatever I first get a try
i wanna point out something & we can agree to disagree; most players that initiate bad spacing are inside bigs; and to them they believe if they're not playing bad, then they're not selling. Yes you can rebound, block some shots, play some defense, but on the offensive end most of your teammates can't score the ball as they should because you being on an inside, you're in the way & you're causing unnecessary double teams, that's selling. You don't have to always play bad to be considered "selling". Sometimes being on a build that doesn't bring the proper offensive requirements can be labeled as selling.
it’s a shame that the people who should watch this video to learn something from it probably won’t 😂 W video anyway though. always enjoy watching your random rec experiences
lowkey a lot of these situations can be avoids by you. at 2:00 they were all already on the left side and u decided to run a pnr on the left, instead move out to the right where u have all that space to work and get a bucket off a pnr bc the left side is clogged up
I took the inbound on the left side. I’m there first with the ball. Anyone with a brain would go opposite of the inbound. We’re already into the pick and roll & they decide to come over to that side. The ball is always priority. You move away from the ball, the ball doesn’t move away from you.
Biggest problem I face is I'll bring the ball up the court and 3 people are screening. Not sure why guards this year feel the need to screen. Let the big man do it and wait in the corner and I'll hit you everytime.
Dime I can’t hold you, I got a build that would make n go crazy. Coldest build name too but I’m lowkey gate keeping. It fits your playstyle perfectly and it has defense.
The only RU-vidr I’ve played with and against that I can actually say is good at the game the others that play pro am or rec just sit corner or upload clips of them against bums
I got two of them like at 1:19 simple drive it feel like when I’m trying move forward for a drive my player like stiff or slow. Im on Ps5 and I hold r2 along with left stick every movement I make. And at 2:58.
Yeah people don’t know that playing off ball effectively is a skill itself. Not everyone knows how. I main my 3 Level Threat SF and he consistently gets 30+ pts most of his games. A low scoring game is 20+ for him. But it’s mostly just knowing how to play off the ball.
Man I had to stop playing with literal homies behind floor spacing! That shit irritates me like crazy just like guard builds setting on ball screens. Ngl tho, it’s been better randoms this 2k (so far). Got 2 Pro and 1 MVP status players all from random rec!
