Starship/Superheavy really did a number on Hoopcam 2 as viewed from its selfie cam.

Sorry for your loss of equipment. I guess both SpaceX but also the photographers have learned a lot from this flight. Would be interesting to see how you adapt and get prepared for protecting equipment for filming the next launch. That would be an interesting video in itself IMO. One solution I have seen Danish rocket photographers use is to use a cheap GoPro to film the close encounters knowing very well the camera will not survive the shot but the SD card will.

Indeed. But it still don't understand what the purple color was from...
@mysock351C
@mysock351C Год назад
@@b33thr33kay More likely an artifact of the camera if I had to guess since the color wanders around drunkenly after that. My guess is that it was likely bright white or maybe yellow from heat and triboluminescence from the glass panel. Whatever it was, it was hauling some serious ass, that is for sure.
@mysock351C
@mysock351C Год назад
@@b33thr33kay Actually at 0:35 it looks like it might just have been the infrared LEDs used to illuminate the area at night. Can see that same “purple” color when it falls into the grass and they are the sole source of illumination. Might have just been light reflecting from the debris and glass that made the purple streak.
@dsdy1205
@dsdy1205 Год назад
Most likely explanation for the color change is that the impact momentairly jolted the video connector plug, causing a particular colour to drop out and the entire feed to change colour
