The piece that actually hit someone's house was from the ISS, a old battery if I recall. Pieces of the trunk have been found several times but none damaged property so far.
@@dep7915 Nasa isn't forcing them to make the change even though @dep7915 correctly states that the item is the trash from the ISS not part of the trunk.
If they don't jettison the trunk until after reentry they could still do that in Florida. Weather is mostly a concern in the warm months. Waiting for Bozo to file another law suit.
no, James meant to say Jettison after de-orbit burn, so that it re-enters in a pre-determined area in the Pacific. Right now the trunks are jettisoned before the de-orbit burn and left to passively re-enter: which could be anywhere.
