Spain 2008 - 2012 was the absolute most dominant and talented team in the history of world football. There has and will never ever again be a national squad lineup as packed and incredible as this.
The best team ever seen on a pitch. Unstoppable, playing the most sophisticated and effective form of the sport. Trying to regain some of that former excellence now, they’re probably behind Italy (we’ll see tomorrow in the semis), but what a journey those 6 years were. Unrepeatable.
@@andreatonetti9885 Your last name sounds italian, so sure you would say that. Spain were better, no shame in admitting it since you won anyway. Thank Morata for that.
@@rishadaltair3029 I said they could've had a highsr chance of winning, meanong not losing 4-0 but rather 2-0 and giving Spain a hard time. Italy wanted to press high against this Spanish side and they ended up getting dismantled.
@@rishadaltair3029 the problem was Italy’s coach was a very attack minded boss and went at Spain head on. If they played a more defensive they could’ve had a better chance. But yes, this was a great Spain side.
For me Spain 2008-12 is the greatest international football team ever. Brazil 1970 could be considered, but winning THREE international tournaments in a row is a remarkable feat that will probably never be repeated again. We have very good national teams now and in the past, and we will continue to in the future but for me I doubt any team before, now and after can topple this
U clearly didn't watch football in the 90s and early 2000s, basically all national teams had their peak there and after 2006 WC all of them were on a decline, except Spain, that's why they were so "dominant" (if u call 1-0 wins a domination, cause that's how they won 90% of their 2010 WC games) but if u put them next to a 90s Italy, France or Brazil, they wouldnt stand a chance
No team will ever match this one for me. The perfect mix of technical players, the majority of whom came from Barcelona. It was no coincidence that Barcelona and Spain ruled football from 2008-2012. The true golden era and peak of Spanish football
That match is the best ever Euro final in history Spain 🇪🇸 dominated possession over Italy 🇮🇹 which leaded them to victory over third consecutive major trophy 🏆.
Xavi Iniesta Silva Fabregas Sergio and Xabi all elite passers in one lineup and in their prime. What a deadly force they had and even their defense was stacked with Iker too
many goats in their positions for spain: Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta. And also world class players at the moment like Pique, Jordi Alba, Xabi Alonso, Cesc Fabregas, David Silva...
Italy in 2008 were looking at Spain like “look at this young talented squad thinking they can beat us in a big match.” Fast forward to 2012 and Italy is looking at Spain like “we are in the presence of greatness, we don’t think we can beat this team.”
@@johnnyderpentertainment4009 So how good an individual team is, is based onwhat they won possibly 60 or 70 years ago? 🤣 I'm talking about good that Spanish in particular was, not there entire history🙄 The best international team in history other than possibly Brazil 82/70 and certainly way better than any national side Italy have ever produced.
Fratelli italiano. No tengas pesadillas.
@@835_subham9 Spain broke that record in the Uefa Nations League. And Italy is missin' their second WC in a row, they couldn't beat North Macedonia to be in. Well, I know Europe's always tryin' to keep Spain under the carpet, you may have your reason to hate Spain or to dislike Spain, I see Europeans belittlin' Spain whenever Spain or Spanish succed, But way in the other side of the world you have New Zealand and Australia fancied on Spain. I'm from New Zealand and I'm supportin' Spain and maybe the Socceroos, 'cause i love my Aussie brothers, but Spain comes first for me. greetings from Wellington. By the way, Spain is our main favorite for every WC, We love Spain In New Zealand and for myself, my fav countries are Spain, Mexico and Ireland.
@@willymortimer5060 Although I'm not sure whether you're speaking the right thing that Spain broke that magnanimous record of Italy, Greetings from Warwickshire, England my friend. The reason I hate Spain is because they mostly play fouls.. Worse than many countries. Too many offsides to accommodate in a match. I have my reason to support Italy, though never realized that after EURO finals English fans would behave in such tremendous toxic fashion!! Bizarre out of the world.. My most favorite countries are England, Italy & Australia!! So, I see that you have got quite many Aussie brothers.. Guess what you're lucky..
Was a huge mistake from the start Italy playing Chiellini on an injury. He was at fault for the first goal early, could barely run, sent Italy chasing the game and wasted a sub to take Chiellini off at 30 minutes back when there were only 3 substitutions... too bad because the Spain vs Italy game in the group stage 1-1 was one of the best games of that tournament.
It wasn't like that actually, it was mostly del Bosque's fault because he was obsessed with playing Diego Costa instead of Villa and Torres, I don't think we would've won at all that year, but we wouldn't have been destroyed like that with actual strikers.
Nah not revenge. Played scared in this recent Euro while Spain created chances and kept shooting. But hey, Spain will be in this World Cup while Italians will watch others play on TV📺
@@brrrrrtenjoyer I'm Happy 'cause i'm fancied on Spain. I Noticed Europe hates or dislike Spain, belittlin' Spain whenever Spain succed. But I love Spain, travelled Europe years ago and I felt in love with Spain and ireland. Got to say that I was really dissapointed with Italy, France, Portugal, Croatia, Austria and Belgium. The UK, Holland and Germany were right, but Spain and ireland, and maybe Greece were great. I support Spain and Real Madrid, always did. And I loved that Spanish girl in the Eurovision Song Contest, but Europeans would keep sayin' she was naff and tacky, worthless and generic, but we loved way in the other side of the world, both Australia and New Zealand love Spain. Also in India Spain is a country of fancy. greetings from Wellington, New Zealand
@@johnnyderpentertainment4009 Italy 7-1 Spain? Did this match take place in the glorious "competitive" era of football in the 1930's where no one gave a shit about football? I searched it up and can't find it.
it is not fun for you?? Well, It's pure joy for me and millons around the globe ... Try and play like Spain did those 6 magical years, try and replicate those lightning passing triangles, It takes players of very very high technical finesse, superb individual technique and group technique. Total football upgraded. Hungary in the 50s, Brazil in the 60s, Holland in the 70s and Spain in 2008-12, teams that REVOLUTIONAIZED FOOTBALL!! Try if you can!!
@@marco-antoniotrujillo6944 here from New Zealand, we just failed and we're out...and the Socceroos are in, good luck for them. i am tryin' to figure out what's wrong with Spain in Europe, I mean, i've noticed much hate against Spain in Europe. This Tiki-Taka team, well, had it be German, Italian, French or Swedish and everybody would be writin' poems, but instead Europeans show how mean they are against Spain. In New Zealand and Australia Spain is like a country of our fancy along with Italy, but I noticed as Europeans wanted to keep Spain under the carpet. Other country in Europe in the same situation is Ireland, i guess Europeans, for such or such a reason, want to keep these countries under the carpet. Funny 'cause i travelled Europe years ago and my very fav countries were Ireland and Spain. I also read loads of rude comments about that Spanish girl who did 3rd in the Eurovision Song Contest, sayin' things i ain't goin' to repeat and other less offensive words like "her perfomance is dull, it is generic, it is naff or tacky". I mean, had that girl been Swedish, Danish or Italian and would have been a Godess, I mean...What's wrong, 'cause i can't understand Europeans (only Europeans) in this video about the final in which Spain overcome Italy by scorin' 4-0 and yet they say "oh, Italy played a 120 minutes match against germany, they arrived without resting, had Italy played with that line way back or ahead and..."...I mean, it is nonsensic, they know how hard is to win a final scorin' 1-0 and Spain won 4-0 and Europeans want to put that truth out of sight. I remember last year when Italy won the Euro beatin' both Spain and England on penalties and all Europeans came to comment "oh, god, what a team, they're goin' to rise the Cup in Qatar". ..sorry???...Hello???...they couldn't even beat North Macedonia at home to be in Qatar. so, Italy wins the Europe on penalties and Italy is wowwww...Instead, Spain wins the Euro by scorin' 4-0 and Europeans can just be sporty and 'umble. greetings from New Zealand, i'm supporting Spain. By the way, Australia can join The Eurovision Song Contest Every year, not New Zealand. Europe may hate us as well...greetings from Wellington
@@willymortimer5060 The hate to Spain comes from the times of the Spanish Empire; The British, French and Dutch have always wanted to talk trash about us. Other countries that unjustifiably hate Spain are Brazil and Chile, which at the football level have a giant ego. Curious, because the first has not won anything for many years, and Chile will always be a weak team at the international level, but one that believes it is a giant.
Busquets-Xabi Alonso-Xavi-Iniesta-Cesc. Probably the most dominant midfield in the history. Imagine that midfield with forwards like Messi and Mbappe or Haaland. Unstoppable.
Even if Motta didn't go off, Spain had Italy pinned. I think prandelli changed tactic or formation to that of his 1st game v Spain in the tournament when they actually had Spain on the ropes occasionally.
I see why all the comments have got timelines with a few hours back. Everybody is busy wondering who will clinch the victory this time, while I just can't wait for the match to begin!!
