Castellón de la Plana (officially in Valencian : Castelló de la Plana ) is a Spanish city and municipality , capital of the province of Castellón and the region of Plana Alta , located in the northeast of the Valencian Community. Geographically, it is located to the east of the Iberian Peninsula on an area of flat land, surrounded by different mountain ranges in the interior and the Mediterranean Sea to the east, in front of which extend the 8.6 kilometers of the Costa del Azahar enjoyed by the municipality.
