Hi Stuart, re decent bread; Marcus from Murcia is absolutely correct - to get proper bread you have to go to the local village Panaderia. What a difference, traditional bread is satisfying, filling and yet not bloating; and so much tastier! Definitely worth the extra cost!

So Abalos is going to be thrown under the bus to save the PSOE and Sanchez.

The PSOE, a lazy gang of corrupt, narco-traffickers, traitors! Who only think how fill their pockets and put to ruin Spain and anything that goes with Spanish culture.

Hi, I didn't have many problems changing over sides driving, either, only the rear view mirror. I still use my side mirror more than the rear one. I think it is easier for us right handed foreigners who learn to use their left hand to change gear. I have never driven an English car in Spain, that's got to be more difficult. Do you think in general the food is overcooked here? Especially the veg? Here in Galicia I had to get used to warm rather very hot food or hot enough???? Thanks Stuart, - Joy

I don’t know if any village in Galicia claims to be Columbus’ birthplace, but maybe they’re thinking of Baiona, where one of his returning ships first docked, and lives on in a life-size model in the harbor.

Corruption in Spain? I cannot believe it! And yes, hope that the demonstrating students are not part of the big groups studying useless professions. Spain is so nice to discover, and although Australia is nice, it’s emptiness is too much! Nothing in its middle compared to populated Spain!

Great news report but sadly all of the news and the rubbish therein is not surprising. Crummy politicians and corruption, frustrated renters and buyers and Gibraltar. That's a tit for that issue. Spain wants to be awkward about Gibraltar and Gibraltar responds.

The queues outside some bakeries in Spain always amazes me, the word goes out that one balery or other is "proper artisan bread" although I see the same vehicle from the same supplier delivering the same frozen dough to all of them. As you said, in France the bread is to die for, in Spain it will kill you !

@@richardcooley9730 I don't need to cross the northern border. I've been eating bread for 71 years. Your reference to Spanish bread "will kill you" is just silly as you know. English and French bread is also great/good/ poor etc. It depends on the bread itself !!!

@@rogerdavies2796 congratulations Roger, I pip you by one year and a week! Likewise I have enjoyed and endured bread over many places and many years and I agree it all depends on the bakery and how quickly you can get in. My experience in Catalonia was never good however and I found that all the artisan bakeries were anything but, merely toasting the frozen dough that came from a factory in La Bisbal. Still, I respect your opinion, nothing to fall out with here.

The siesta is not a waste of time, once you understand what it’s for. Shops open at 9 or 10 in the morning and stay open until around 2, when they close so that working parents can go collect their kids from school, walk them home, and give them a good lunch. Or get their own shopping and errands done. Then the shops reopen around 5 and stay open until 9 in the evening. Although confusing for foreigners at first, it’s a system that serves people’s needs, and once you learn to go with the flow, it makes sense.

Lacha a bit much eh? Name someone 700 years ago that went to a far off land and never exploited resources or people? That was the Modus Operandi of the time. History cannot be erased ever it is always there, some don't pay attention to History and repeat the same stupid things time after time. A case in Point. Liberals saw the rise and fall of Russia and Cuba and yet want to go down the same road with their countries.Insanity Is Doing the Same Thing Over and Over Again and Expecting Different Results

The right to smoke is a symbol of freedom, even if it is bad for you, personally I believe living in a country without freedom is even more unhealthy for everyone, far worse than a bit of second hand tobacco smoke. As a non smoker I can put up with it without winging
@Yocambio
@Yocambio 23 часа назад
Well, here's the thing. Since it is beyond dispute that cigarette smoking is one of the worst things one can do to one's health, why is it "whinging" to ask that smokers respect the freedom of non-smokers not to have smoke inflicted on them against their will? And why should one be free to inflict second-hand smoke on children, pregnant women and people with respiratory problems? And should not smokers have to pay for the social costs of their addiction by supplemental health insurance contributions? Or is this one of those "externalities" so popular among free market economists, where social costs need not be taken into account?
@rogerdavies2796
@rogerdavies2796 11 минут назад
Well, here's the thing. Do you drink alcohol ? How about the untold damage to health and life caused by excessive drinking ? The unruly and sometimes aggressive behaviour that causes injuries and the death of innocent people. How many people die every year as a result of people driving when their idiocy causes the death of others ? Let's ban everything that can have negative secondary effects and bow down to The Nanny State.
