Being a diabetic, it wasn’t easy watching all the varieties of donuts, but it was easy looking at Mark. Is he single? I am seriously kidding…. Not! lol 😂
I HIGHLY recommend you go back here and try that same assortment at least before 8:00 a m. If you want to push your luck then get there around 6:30 a.m. Then give a real review because those doughnuts weren't HOT but although really good. Nice to see something closer to home, thanks for the review. 👍👍
Love Spaldings! From their old spot to the new one...I still think of their current spot as the new one, even though its been there for some time now.😃 Was just there last week.
The Spaldings were part of the Catholic migration to Kentucky in the late 1700s from Baltimore. They were part of a group that founded Catherine Spalding College in Louisville, and Thomas Moore College. I think they originally settled in the Springfield,Lebanon ,Ky area and expanded towards Louisville. . Their first parrish was Holy Cross...look into the history. Located near Midway,Ky.
Hey buddy! I'm with your friend Mark I can't tear the donuts up but I do love a good bakery. My wife would have tried to tackle you over the goodness you selected. We have an old bakery that has been in our town for many moons. Looked like a nice drive to Lexington, man it's always nice to hook up with an old classmate/teammate! Hooked up with an old classmate/teammate of mine after not seeing each other for over 40 years. Safe journey back to Derby City brother thanks and can't wait for the next production!
OMG, Now I have a hankering for a donut. Every time I watch your reviews even though I’m not hungry, I find myself grazing through the kitchen. My wife tells me you’re watching Goodall’s Country Kitchen again aren’t you. Barry, I hate to throw you under the bus, but I tell her it’s your fault and all those great Family owned businesses with great food. Keep up the great job and God Bless you.
You need to take a day trip and go to the Schnitzelbank in Jasper Indiana and try the prime rib. If you like Reubens try their Reuben rolls (egg rolls filled with corned beef, sauerkraut and swiss cheese with thousand island for dipping). Their Wurst platter is also a must. Never had a bad thing. Also the salad bar is the best out there. They have about any German food you could want as well as American food. It's not a brewery but they do make their own Root beer. If you make the trip on a weekend get there no later than 5pm or make a reservation, they are busy!!
Hi Angie! Been to Schnitzelbanks several times as well as the Chicken House in Ireland, You are recommending a great establishment! They do not have their own brewery but they have cold beer. Great home cooked food!
I am always down for a good old fashion bakery, they are hard to find. I remember Hadorn's Bakery on 18th and Dixie Highway. Lines were always long. Best one I ever had a long time ago.
Spalding's has the best doughnuts in Lexington. Period. Their original location Downtown was fantastic, but they moved after a violent assault happened many years ago. They were a cash-only business for several decades. They just recently started taking plastic.
Spaldings original is one of my favorites.Have you tried Burkes Bakery in Danville? They have been here for a long time and the yeast donuts and pershing rolls are just a few of originals they serve.Butterflake rolls are a staple at holiday meals in Danville. You must try.
Like Plehn’s Bakery, THE BEST in Louisville! My grandparents lived across the street next to the AP&P grocery store, ( became Bacon’s) houses torn down moons and moons ago. Then, my grandparents moved to Grinstead Drive , 4th house on the right from Stilz. 👍🏼 Pheln’s Bakery has been in operation for 102 years, first on Shelby Street and then in its current location.
Plehn’s is still there after 75 years? Memories 💚 I remember nothing but the Irish potato farms on Shelbyville Road as far as you could see. Only Brown’s Lane existed for a cut thru to Taylorsville’s Road, no Plainview, only the was the dairy that my grandfather worked for, and no Hourstborne Lane either. No Mall of St Matthews, notta anything developed on US 60. 👍🏼
@@goodallscountrykitchenWe've gotta get the Mexican hot chocolate cake donut in your hands from Drop In Donut in Fort Bragg, California. Cayenne pepper, cinnamon and sugar coating. 🔥 Had it last week - one of the best donuts I've ever had.
Yes I did, and yes, I saw that you realized your seat belt wasn't hooked. I'm glad you finally hooked it. Don't get me wrong. I am not criticizing, just pointing out the obvious. BTW, my wife and I love ❤️ your videos. I wish we had some of those great local places here in the Richmond VA area. Keep on snappin' turtle!!
@@7924hobo thank you! Surely yall have some down home cooking joints around there. I know there has to at least a few good soul food joints around Richmond?
