Yo, like this goal seen it at academy it was higher priced, Def will consider it before they go back up, good review showed exactly what I would want to see what it could handle,
I just got another Spalding 60 inch a few weeks ago I already finished putting it together it’s in my backyard and I filled up sand in my base so the base can be a lot stabled. I now have a full court in my backyard I still have my 54 inch pro glide for almost 3 years and it’s still holding up well.
Hey man, nice review and playing! I started playing again basketball after almost 15 years and now am back playing with my teamate back in high school.Hope i get one for my birthday in August, turning 37 haaah!
agentaxe thanks bro and if you can get it now they ha e been going up and down my walmart has them for $272. $199 it cannot be beat badically a $400 goal. Trust me you will not regret it one sec and your hear will thank you for the cardio you only live once make the most of it boss.👍🏽
Thanks for the vid. Just got this, put it together for my son. Pretty solid. In the store I was bouncing basketballs off the backboards and this one felt the best. 2021 though price was way up!
Great video..still used this video 1 year later and it still advises greatly. Thanks. I bought one for only 170 from walmart because of some damadged done to the box, luckily no damadge inside. However when filled with water i got some leakage.(has happened with every single hoop of mine). Ended up using sand and it is quite heavy but managable. Great hoop i highly recommend it.
Great but seriously contact Spalding send them your address and receipt and they will send you a new base and just keep it as a spare, friend did that with his pole as he butchered it putting it together and ga w me the extra one, $170 is a steal👍🏾
Andrew Saludez awsome goal and completely interchangeable with all the other Spalding goals if you want a different type of goal. Some advice use wood and a 50lvs weight to mate the poles much easier
I got 2 basketball hoops in my backyard. I got a lifetime basketball hoop with a 44 inch impact backboard that's mounted on a pole like a year. and i also got a lifetime 46 shatter proof basketball hoop with a quick adjust last Wednesday. I had to put it together on Thursday because after i went to go get the hoop it was already dark outside so i said I'll put this together tomorrow morning so the next morning i woke up at 10 am and went outside to go put my new basketball hoop together. It took me 4 hours to put it together and after i finished putting together the basketball hoop i put some water on the base.
Thank you for this video. The price is still $399 in 2024 and just grabbed one from Walmart. Wish me luck and thanks for the tip on the jack. If you could, send us an update on how the goal is today or if you did upgrade to that in-ground version
Hey how did u like the 54 in the back ? I have a spAlding 54 inch that has the ball return , but the base and ball return in the front kinduh dangerous when taking layups or dunking , would u say really either of these rims is fine to dunk on \ hard layups ( in terms of landing after ) at any angle since the base is more in the back ? Thanks .
Paid the 326 but they flying like southwest I got one that was shipped night before and I happened to just walk by sporting goods it was all alone saying get me man I had to take out box was so big to fit in car it’s exactly what I wanted for my kid not a smaller 48 or 50 or 52 when I saw 60 I was on it lol just started putting it up Manual is a little confusing wish you put a tutorial on putting this damn thing together ! Just got to read over and over before you put each part on and you will be ok good looking brudda ✌🏾
I've been doing my research and looking and looking but you sold me seeing you dunk on it sold me because that's all I wanna do lol and I like also how level it is like you mention Thanks for your review SOLD lol
I just got a Spalding 54 acrylic portable basketball hoop with a pro glide and a pole pad a couple weeks ago. I Never dunked on it though but i still play on my lifetime basketball hoop and i always dunk on it because it has double springs on the rim. I don't be hanging on it though but i do be dunking it hard with one hand and two hands. I only weigh 152 lbs. And I'm only.6'2
I know it's been a year since you uploaded this video but if you dont want to drain the water in the winter. Just add a 1/2 cup of antifreeze and it won't freeze. Nice setup also.
Hey.... do any on have The instruction manual to the goal I just bought one and it didn't have a instruction manual.... if so can someone take some pics so i know what im doin pls
I am one lucky guy because that's the one i'm getting instead of the 44 inch one. My mother is going to buy this for me and i might get this as my early birthday present.
Amy Steffon awesome I heard walmart put the price back up to $285, did you get it for $199? But yeah just lay it down or get a ladder and take some electical tape around the top of the pole where the plug goes then use a zip ties to hold it down, works well so far not a drop of water has gotten inside the pole.
I have the same hoop like yours but i never dunked on it I had it about 2 months. And it’s a lot better than my other hoops i have in my backyard. I have 2 54 inch hoops the first one i have i had it for 2 years but i haven’t played on it a lot like i played on it last year i still have it and the other one i have i had it for almost 7 months. I be playing on it a lot. Sometimes i be dunking on it but not all the time. I be shooting on it a lot more than dunking on it. I be playing on the 60 inch a lot in my front yard. I prefer that the 60 inch is a lot better than the 54 inch because the backboard is a lot bigger than the 54 inch and the poles are way bigger and stronger and the backboard doesn’t shake much when i hit the ball on the top of the backboard. It’s the best hoop i ever had. My hoop is up like on 10’6. I took the handle off of my hoop when i be raising the hoop up and down cause i don’t want no one to raise it down and try to dunk on it.
Please do a video on how you installed the crank for adjusting the height of the hoop. My hoop won’t move when I try cranking it and I did everything the instructions told me to do
Ken Chika Jr. sup check the top of the crank and make sure the eye hole of metal and plastic is threw the bolt it will not go up and down if not, Spalding has the best warranty if u send the warranty dept any evidence they will send parts in 2 days. Let me know will do a vid for u
TEXASCREED thank you so much I did not know I was supposed to put the bolt through the metal pole and the plastic pole. I was only putting it through the plastic pole. Thx again🙏🏾
I'm wearing myself out looking at portable basketball hoops. I had a slab of concrete put down for a court so I can get some exercise. The biggest concern for me is I don't want the backboard to shake like crazy when I shoot. I won't be dunking or anything like that so I'm not worried about that. I can't afford some of the higher end hoops that are 700-1,300 dollars. I also would prefer to have some life off the backboard. I understand everything can't be perfect on a budget I'm just looking for the best option up to $500.
This will easily suit your needs. Backboard is not cheap, go check them out in the store, they put the most of the money in the Backboard and rim where it needs to be, just FYI if you want to inground it you can pour concrete with some cut rebar in the bottom of the pole with a box wood to make a concrete pole remove the box wood then plant that in the ground and concrete the bottom the boom a bad ass inground with a top notch Backboard. Only hitch on this hoop is its harder to move around because of the weight of the Backboard.
@@WeightBully Thank you so much. There are so many different variations out there just under spalding acrylic alone it's tough to get a good read. Most reviews are sponsored looking for upsells. I appreciate you for the feedback.
When I bounced the top, middle, and bottom poles together, the final pole looks bent a little forward. Should I keep assembling or would you recommend straightening out? If so you have any tips?
They are not to be bounced thet ha e to be pressed joined, either with a heavy weight at the top, or a car or truck slowly meshing them one section at a time, stop now if they are not straight it will damage the pole and you will have to hope Spalding replaces as it will be your fault for not following the directions,
@@samirahsanaa If you mean the pole, then no you ha e to hammer them together, One 2x4 and the heaviest weight you can find some people use a car idle but you can break it if not really careful
Use RV antifreeze and water in the base and you won’t need to drain it. I live in MN where we get temps as low as -50 and my base is still goin strong 5 years later.
I just bought it, and there is a crack in the base. it is on the top of the base so then the water when filled will probably not spill out -- but I am wondering if I should return it or not ... having made 2 different reviews, do you think if I tape it up it will be fine? I kind of don't want to build it all together to find out it won't hold the water... then again I can add cinderblocks or weight of somekind on the back too and just paying attention I can make it work. what you think? @Weight Bully
A crack very weird indeed. Two ways to go, you can take the base to walmart and they should switch it out or call Spalding they will send another no issue and you will have a extra one, 👍🏾
I have a lifetime 46 shatter proof basketball hoop with a quick adjust and a breakaway rim and I'm about to have a full court in my backyard. I'm going to buy a Spalding 44 inch polycarbonate pro glide basketball hoop from academy sports for my birthday in a couple weeks. It cost $199 but I'm going to pay $220 because I'm also going to buy a new net too just in case the old net gets messed up. I'm thinking about putting antifreeze in my bases. How much antifreeze should i put in my base because i don't want to use a whole lot.
Yes we have placed a few in the ground will need to concrete and rebar the inside of the middle joints and extend the base with rebar 3-4 feet the place in ground about 4 feet deep still standing after storms
I had purchased the same one as you posted. After assembled it, the board wasn’t leveled, it tilt to right side little bit. I had tried many different way to fixed it but still the same. Anyone know how to fix this problem. Thx!
the pipes must be bent are all the washers inbetween the bolts even, spalding is a A+ in warranty give them a call they will send any part you need to make it right,
I just set mine up. It’s leaning forward and it’s kind of crooked. Do you know what the problem could be? It’s really giving me OCD. When I put the 3 poles together It was slightly slanted, but when everything’s together it looks extremely slanted forward, and I feel the slight misalignment in the pole shouldn’t have been that bad. It has to be something else. Maybe it’s the backboard I’m not too sure. Would love some feedback.
Look at the holes on the pole and holes on the base for vertical alignment, there should be two sets of holes and the furthest one back are the 90 degree holes, also when aligned put a brick under the main pole to help with dunks
It's decent but my neighbor has replaced his backboard already mines is older and I dunk on it, he cannot touch a 10ft yet, but spalding did warranty it,
Possible considering the price it could in theory be bought on ebay and you could use international shipping when you buy to have it shipped to your door step, I sold my ridley roadbike to someone In Australia, the shipping was completely handled by ebay and it arrived un damaged,
can you not put stone on your base of the hoop because its just gonna rip the plastic so use sand it works better and looks good because its in the base
I been using blocks since 1990 and never had a issue not one time the sand is heavier but over time, when you need to move it it will pull the bolts through the plastic because its so heavy, blocks may not look good but the storm that just came through knocked everyone else goal down but mines,
I just put mine together and there isn’t room for the crank to make a complete turn, it hits the square vertical bar. Any thoughts on why this might happen?
Kevin Hahn could be the mount check the top of the pole as well if it is close to the pole there. You should beable to wind it easy and not touch the pole I got big hands and still have space. post a vid if possible and linknit bro let me check it out
They unpacked bent or install was not seated correctly? If they are bent call Spalding they will replace the poles, careful how you join them if they are not mated correctly they can break,
So I'm tryna to slide the poles in, but the bottom and middle poles only seem to go in 2 inches when they say 4 inches. I tried but it just doesnt seem to budge. Is it okay if its only 2 ?
Are u using something heavy to drive then together that is requires if so the weight you are using may not be heavy enough I used 55lbs one time and the last time 80lbs made it like butter li bbn it up correctly as you can split it
I built it, can be built by anyone mechanically inclined, but I can build anything so if a person has no tools they are better off having it professionally setup
Got to be a lil more specific you mean the one that attatch from the base or the ones that attatched to the backboard, if backboard youlay it down no rim the attatch them to it, they are self locking if you mean the ones on the base to pole you will need to muscle it in place and used a skinny screwdriver to hold one side as you slide the bolt through,
Weight Bully I’m having trouble with the ones for the backboard. I can’t get them to stay at an angle and when I attach backboard they just swing back.
@@lifeof_zq99 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 hoped to hear from you soon, remember to throw some antifreeze in the base so it will last year round outside and consider blocks for thoes high wind days,
Only goals you can hang on cost $1000+ not $199 like this one, if sold on eBay they do have international shipping as close as you can get to a nba sized goal without paying a arm and leg
get it thats a near $400 goal and the new one that is comming is the same just diffrent color and is $390+, 60' is way better than the 54' nothing other than being easier to move makes the 54 better,
Take the poles line two up fist following the directions to which pole goes where, get a wood block or 2x4 and use a heavy weight must be 40lbs or more to drive the poles together, you will need the top of a suv or truck or ladder for the last one, can use Dumbbells, heavy iron even used a idling truck bumper to drive the poles before,
@@WeightBullyI put sand on mine I bought like 5 bags of sand and I put the sand inside the base. I didn’t put the sand on top of my base because i don’t want my base to be crushed.
How does the backboard sound when the ball hits it? I know with my older Spalding 48" backboard that I need to replace, it has that annoying loud plastic-ey "boing" sound. I know acrylic isn't like thick glass, but thinking this is probably thicker and less noisy? So far not sure what the low prices were for, but still seeing it on the Walmart site for $326 even though there is an icon that states it is on clearance but no other price shown. Thanks.
Player 0001 300s wth it is at the store for 199 you have to buy it there, its hard to tell I left the film on but its not annoying like the 54 across the way its cool I do alot of bank shots and layups doint hear it like next door
Perfect. I got similar info from another video poster on the same item. Will most likely go there after work to check it out (local stores show stock). I only want the backboard/goal. So if it is at the lower price in the store then it's still cheaper than what I am seeing for just a backboard of that size by itself. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
@@austinmerritt8291 nearly same specs but it's inground and every thing is beefed to be hung on, but you see the price, I have direct experience with it one of the best out there
My son destroyed that goal constantly dunking. He destroyed the plastic base so I mounted it into the ground with concrete the he bent the main pole so now I have guy wires holding the post plumb. If the goal is going to be used a lot I would go with something more heavy duty.
Lol pretty shure there is a big sticker that says do not hang on the rim, all of the damage is your sons fault, I prob weigh more and can dunk on 10ft no problem and I have not bent or tore up anything on the goal, for what he wanted to do you should have bought a $1000 gorilla goal but you tired to be cheap and use a $199 goal for the same activity, that's not my fault or the goal that's yours AS A PARENT, sorry man
