The slight voice warbling absolutely drives the whole performance home. It's like Spamton is on an absolute edge of insanity, and the things holding it are those strings. Amazing job
And it’s my headcanon that he would have never atacked you if he was not still a puppet, he thought that the new body would free him, but the fact he could not escape it drove him to this, and made him snap, he truly felt kris was a friend. But the fact he was still a puppet drove him truly insane.
I didn't realize until now, but when he's giving you the instructions for the disk he stops every few words to make sure he doesn't get interrupted by any bracketed words.

Late to comment, but it's a decently common tactic for sales people to act extra-chummy with people to try and rapidly build a relationship with their customers to put them in a state where they're more willing to trust them and buy into their deals, makes sense Spamton would copy that.
When he desperately screams for Kris to take the deal shortly before losing, and asking if they want to be a heart on a chain, feels so- frantic. In love with this.
Yeah, this. I know some people prefer other interpretations of his voice where he sounds more like an old-timey salesman, and those totally work too, but the high-pitched warbling and the pure desperate emotion make this my favorite Spamton performance so far.
It's particularly sad how he cuts his own power cable. He was so caught up in his mania and delusion that he severed the thing keeping his NEO body alive, thinking it was some kind of puppet string. He was so excited and happy when he slashed the final cable, thinking he was finally about to be free, and then just dropped dead like a stone.
@@romanplays1 my guy, he *is* the Dealmaker. I've seen that cutscene and he doesn't leave, he just goes into the chest outside the room. he gets turned into an item, effectively killing him
@@pumpkin_pants3828 Except there's no reason turning into an item equals death. Jevil is still alive inside the Devilsknife, since he smiles at Noelle if you try and equip it (him) to her. Lancer and Rouxls turn themselves into cards in your inventory with no problem, and Lancer is clearly not only alive, but fully conscious in Kris' [spacious pants hole] given his commentary on things happening around you. I fully believe Jevil and Spamton are still alive and aware in item form. And I personally headcanon that they even speak to whoever they're equipped to, giving commentary just like Lancer in the inventory screen.
@@mr.kittysavestheworld695 I'm not saying it equals death I'm saying it might as well be. if spamton really was joining you on your journey the tone of that scene would be much happier instead of really sad. it's treated like he's dead, so he might as well be. as for jevil, he literally said he would be sleeping for 100 years so yeah that doesn't really line up
The end of the fight is so sad... he thought he was finally gonna be free and then dies... thats just a real unnecessary stab in the feels. Toby did us dirty
He didn't die though, he lost the NEO body that's all, if your inventory is full he actually talks back and goes to a chest on the room before this one waiting to be picked up.
oh i think Toby has way more than that planned for us i don't like the direction deltarune's heading in it could potentially unveil into a dark and depressing story

6:06 This is one thing that Toby keeps doing with his insane characters that I just LOVE seeing, every time! Like, he gets us used to seeing a pixelated world, that feels comfortable to the player, and then he throws Abomination Flowey, Jevil, and now Spamton NEO DIRECTLY at the screen! It's like the art style is telling us that we are seeing beyond reality, into something that is impossible for a reason.
I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MUCH I LOVE YOUR SPAMTON VA!!! i absolutely love the eccentrics in your voice, and how you're not afraid to scream and yell - it matches Spamton perfectly, making him seem like he's about to absolutely go off the rails! Half of me kind of wants to see the unedited versions where you really deliver those [Bracketed words] without a cut-off, you just sound so fantastic!!! Keep it up, [Little Sponge}!
I really goes well with Spamton getting more [Desperate] and angry as the fight goes on. I do think the red face should go away in his final speech though.
I think my favorite line here is "KRIS!!! TAKE THE DEAL!!! TAKE IT!!!" Just the pure panicky desperation is played so well. Also "I CAN MAKE MY HAND INTO PHONES!"
In The Nyancave’s playthrough, Nyandroid did the [] parts and Clay did the “normal” voice. It’s a really neat idea; keeps the concept of other people speaking for Spamton without loading the effort of constantly switching between those fragments and the real voice on a single person.
So glad you decided to do the pacifist route boss lines. You really made it sound like as the battle goes on he's getting more and more desperate, and it all culminates into your delivery on the "I won't force you" line at 5:49. The pleading voice is perfect, it sounds like he's on the verge of tears. Incredible stuff.
Loved the VA's interpretation of Spamton I literally waited to watch this particular watch battle just to have it voice acted by them the first time I watch it A+, this is how Spamton sounds to me What a [BIG SHOT] Minor thing, but I kinda wanna hear the small bit of dialogue he has if your inventory is fully It's nothing to rush to but it's kinda funny
i adore everything about this voice acting and i absolutely associate spamton with it now, and this is just a little detail, but i love that you pronounced words like ‘specil’ and ‘genorisity’ as they’re spelled, it’s such an iconic touch and i appreciate it a bunch
Seam's side quest better give me a way to talk to my boys Jevil and Spamton one more time. I just hope that Seam isn't going to become a secret boss himself after we collect all the Shadow Crystals.
What keeps me coming back to this one, besides your voice being great, is it has a broader range of emotions than the others. A lot of people can do a good crazy Spamton, but none of them make me feel the same way as when Sudzy says "it's still dark... so dark!" or "Kris... after everything I did to you..."
Spamton in the pacifist route: a mad person that can't control himself, destined to fall in absolute insanity and yet never losing hope. In the end, he comes to consider Kris a genuine friend and even wants to reach the sky with him. Spamton in the Weird route: Still a mad person that can't control himself, the circumstances made him fall into the dark side and manipulate Kris in doing his bidding, so he can reach H E A V E N by taking over the world. Helps Kris in his slaughter, and yet considers him sickening, the duality of man.
Y'know I never noticed it but Spamton doesn't have his weird text or all caps in his final lines, it makes it feel so much more eerie to hear him sound defeated yet happy in a werid way
I loved that [MAMA]! Feels like the more intense/passionate version would fit better though, the one in *_''Mamaaaaaaaa! Ooooooooo!''_* Gorgeous voice over. ^^
Take notice of how just before the transfer and when in NEO he speaks clearer. Like “Kris this next part is very inportant” and “OR.. so.. I thought” it really shows he’s gaining more freedom and if his conscience back
First time I played vs Spamton, it was at the end of Snow grave, there he was a self-centered, shit-talking bastard. Then I played the weird route, and after hearing him talk about friendship, finally turning a new leaf, and then plummeting to the ground... It hit different.
The wires were the only thing keeping the body's battery alive it seems, perhaps it was in low energy mode and plugged because the orginal battery melted away after someone else overused it to the point the body became unusable and had to be left behind... * cough metatton pacifist route cough *
I LOVE the voice you gave Spamton. I just think it's the perfect fit for the character and represents the chaos that the character is associated with. Really good job!

absolute, just outstounding work as always, althought if you ever feel like would recommend doing one with the version of your full inventory, yes, there is a entire different and unique message list if you have your inventory full when he goes to give ye your reward for beating him
