The waiting list for public housing in sydney is like 10 years. Preferwnce is given under certain conditions, if youre disabled or have mental issues, a family or a job and you are deemed good character. This makes it so difficult to get a place and disproportionate amount of indigenous people need public housing. Because white man stole aboriginal land, its only natural that they should get prefernce over others on the list. I think thats why or at least the gov portrays why aboriginal housing was formed. I think its blak run, for blak families and their specific needs… Tbh probably just another way to segregate society though. Mind you its controversial but aboriginal housing in redfern did quite a job cleaning up the block, and the lucky residents who returned to new housing, all have mad apartments with the plenty of room, better than ive seen in standard public housing…

Different systems because Aboriginal people have different benefits and don't just get lost within the system

I grew up in Liverpool in the early 2000's was pretty hecktick.

When I lived in housing Commission, there was aboriginal and white fellas there,but housing Commissiontook rent from some,and aboriginal housing took rent from the others. Same flats but rent paid to 2 different places and maintained by those same places as well. Does that make sense ?

So i don't know if anyone explained it or not to ya, but when you see trash piles like broken and or old furniture out the front of houses in these videos here. We have a thing called council clean ups so you call in the local council and you have them do pick ups they'll come out and clean up what you have thrown on the pile out the front of your yard and shit like that. It's not something you can do all the time though its like a couple times a year or something like that, Just thought id explain that because you were wondering why there's piles like that out the front of some of the houses.
