That's a fact. I remember Gwitty kind of got the ball rolling cuz P was beefing with him and then BAMMMM out of no where, We Introduce to you...Spanish Harlemmmmm 😂 Bro really told niggas what was gone happen and look 🤷🏿♂️ #silenceOfProtocol 🤫
He was cryptic when he was talking about the "wrongs" in battle rap. In this interview he wasn't. What battler's need to know is that the folks of the URL are not your friends. You can be friendly with them, but that doesn't make them your friend. That's "just business".
I agree! “ The problem is lack of artist development with lower tier MCs! URL is overlooking the artist who are actually hungry instead of investing more into big Names!
Thats what beasley gets for trying to threaten/bash a media outlet that did nothing but cover their events and bring them more $$.salute the whole HHIR.all my wrist-is is FROOOGS.
I rather Spanish Harlem come and say "I told u so" 😂 he decoded the matrix 2 years ago...url business motto to keep the rappers/slaves ignorant an out them books no longer working..so they have to reconfigure everything. Those contracts ain't binding.
Ima come clean the bloggers fucked BR up I know it sounds crazy because bloggers DID push the culture forward BUT if URL wanted to be the only league that mattered they was posed to get all the top bloggers under contract and put in the contract they can’t speak about non url battles had a ESPN type style channel on the app where it was battle rap 24/7 with live content and battle rap history shows shit like that so ALL that traffic that all these bloggers get would get redirected to the app more money the app makes the more you can pour into the culture instead their app is dyin so they are dyin🤷🏾
I don’t see how you even give this validity, the only reason URL dwindled was because of Tsu Surf getting locked… he was the cash cow and it wasn’t just URL EFFECTED… It was the culture as a whole
@@richs4358 If we listen to the interview it's said numerous times Knowledge seeks HIM out for the interview for months. Why? Cause he sees it and wanted Spanish's opinion again. If everything Spanish said the first time was bs, Knowledge wouldn't have reached out, thats the short answer.
@@JayJoe1984 you realize knowledges is the DJ Akademiks of battlerap😂 he just wants something to speak on, and drama usually gets views. The bigger artists aren’t bothering with in person blogs so what else can he do. This is water under the bridge in actuality. That’s not my opinion, that’s how the culture treated it after a couple weeks. Just Like Norbes, ghostwriters, etc
I don't get the benefit of this... explain to me what he has done to push the culture forward... go work with other battle rap companies, it dont gotta be URL, if I was URL I would keep you out too
Lol he's actually got two businesses. One with smack and goodz. So you can say and think what you want about him. But he's still making more legit money than your favourite battle rapper.
Which is how you know the game is fucked up. Danny is one of the very best to ever do it, exemplifies what it means to be a battle rapper, gives his all to the culture, cooks everyone, no days off & very very rarely takes a clear L...& he's somehow still considered not marketable.
Adept hnic said it best on his channel "we come in as fans and leave as detractors" pertaining to media dealing with battle rap after a while.Once you really interact with the ppl in battle rap culture you see how fake n ego driven they are and you start understanding how much you should deal with them without become they're lapdog like they want you to be
The problem with battle rap is people aren’t watching battles anymore, the battlers let the bloggers become more popular than them, so most people watch recaps, that’s why they can’t quote bars anymore. The haymaker style of battle rap also killed it, we use to quote battlers whole verses now all people do is count punches, bars, and haymakers.
I AGREE WITH THE FIRST PART. SOME BLOGGERS ARE OUT HERE TALKING TO A LOT OF BATTLE RAPPERS CRAZY BECAUSE THEY ARE NOW MAKING MORE MONEY THAN BATTLE RAPPERS FROM RU-vid AND MERCH.
The battlers nowadays have boring personalities they aren't charismatic these days so ppl don't see them as relatable on a personal level. Bloggers actually keep the culture running because of their personalities but ppl keep hiding behind them speaking on drama to downplay them when in fact if battlers didn't put out negative information nobody would speak on things. You can't put out drama then gey mad ppl wanna find out more of the situation that's not reality
I disagree with Spanish. The McDonalds corporation or the man who owns a McDonalds franchise doesn't have to care about the minimum wage employees to make the business model work. The reason being is that there's thousands of unemployed ppl that'll come work minimum wage. That's battle rap today. It's oversaturated with low/mid class talent, and unless you're a NJT or Tay Roc that can consistently fill up a building, no one gives af. NJT can choke a million times and still be able to fill up a building. Spanish can flow flawlessly for 20 battles straight, and no one gives af. It's unfair, but that's the game.
THAT'S WHY BATTLE RAP IS DYING. IT WAS THE OPPOSITE BACK IN THE DAY WHICH IS WHAT DREW FANS AND INVESTORS IN TO BATTLE RAP. THE CHOKERS GOT PUSHED TO THE BACK AND THE CONSISTENT BATTLE RAPPERS BECAME STARS FROM JUST BEING CONSISTENT AND GETTING THE NEXT BATTLER THEY CALLED OUT. NOW IT'S ALL POLITICS AND THE SYSTEM IS RAN THE WAY YOU ARE SAYING. IT SOUNDS GOOD FOR THE LEAGUE WHO RUNS THE SYSTEM THAT WAY BUT IT MADE BATTLE RAP LOSE VALUE AND SUPPORTERS. WE ARE SEEING THAT NOW WITH THE VIEWS ALL ACROSS BATTLE RAP FROM URL TO GTX.
Respectfully...I disagree with you. There should be a genuine commitment to support and value every employee, regardless of their position. Some company owners may prioritize profit and performance over the well-being of all employees, but that doesn't mean you don't care about the "minimum wage employees" as you said because eventually, top tiers won't always be around, especially if they have talent. If they have the talent, other opportunities will come for them to make more money outside of battle rap...you see that now will a lot of the big names. So you need to care for the low tier battlers because when top tiers go to bigger and better things, you will have to depend on the low tiers to become the future top tiers. Caring for everyone equally and building growth is how you establish longevity in a company.
@cholo2345 In a perfect world, all employees would be similarly valued and supported, but unfortunately, that's not the reality of the situation. That battle rap "pyramid scheme" is a scam they've managed to sucker ppl in for decades. There is no such precedence as "when the top-tiers leave the mid-tier battlers will take their place." That's absolutely incorrect because the top-tiers are never going anywhere. It's about numbers fam. If you can sell a venue out, it doesn't matter whether the top-tiers leave or not. Again, Roc, NJT, Nitty, Eazy, Geechi can all draw major crowds off their names alone. Low/mid tier rappers like Spanish are not able to do this. If all the top-tiers retired today, battlers like Spanish are not selling out a SM card, and URL would likely go bankrupt relying on rappers like Spanish to fill a building. Sucks to say, but it's the truth.
@@youngnixx88788 THE EMPLOYEE ARGUMENT IS ONE THING BUT NOW WE HAVE A CULTURE CALLED BATTLE RAP THAT LOST ITS VALUE THROUGH ALL THE RULES BEING BROKEN “BOOK WHOEVER CAN SELL TICKETS OVER AND OVER EVEN IF THEY CHOKED THE LAST THREE BATTLES” AND GREED FROM LEAGUE OWNERS WANTING PEOPLE TO BE EXCLUSIVE TO THEM IN 2+ YEAR CONTRACTS TELLING THEM DONT BATTLE AT OTHER LEAGUES. THATS NOT WHAT BATTLE RAP GAINED FANS FROM AND IF WE WANT TO INCORPORATE THESE OTHER STYLES OF BUSINESS FOR BATTLE RAP IT WILL NEVER PROGRESS AS WE SEE NOW.
This interview in my opinion was most anticipated since the caffeine and App Era debate over P. Salute for Hip hop is Real for bringing the Return of Spanish Harlem.
RBE is the solution all the other leagues is the solution Url has been the problem battles not being good and match ups not making sense. Those who deliver let them deliver those who don't got to sit down until they can or for forever no more playing with the money.
Bruh you can't blame a league for guys not coming in and performing. Tay Roc for example has gone to "no name" leagues and rapped like he was on Summer Madness. Its up to the rapper to perform. All the league can do is put them in position. 🤷🏾♂️
@@vic9844 YOU HAVE TO BLAME THE LEAGUE BECAUSE THE KEEP BOOKING THE SAME PEOPLE WHO NOT PERFORMING UP TO PAR. SO MUCH TALENT THEY COULD BOOKING BUT THEY WANT TO LOCK THEM INTO CONTRACTS FOR YEARS. THIS IS WHY EVERY TIME URL ANNOUNCES A NEW CARD ITS THE SAME NAMES JUST SHUFFLED AROUND.
Cal saying typical cal shit, as if he's always had enough money to not battle. He does have a point as far as MFS not just relying on the URL to eat, but a lot of these guys aren't in position to do what took cal over a decade to do, and get his own. This ninja been battling for im not sure how long, and hasn't always had his own. Now he gets to a point to where times are better, after already going through what he's went through to get where he is, and this the best advice he can share with MFS under him? Smh He should be showing these guy's how to leverage their likeness/name, encouraging them not to sign these exclusive deals to where they're stuck on one league, etc etc etc. Instead he's sharing a super vague opinion, that's already understood. But these guys have to start somewhere, how are they going to get their own? Especially knowing they're coming from situations worse than battle rap, and really relying on battle rap to change their lives. MFS look at people like Cal as motivation, like he did it and so can I.
Problem is. These battlers on URL know it's not gonna be on RU-vid and nobody is going to see it. Reason the quality of their battles are so low. Because they've learned that nobody is seeing them battles on the app.
The irony of url not wanting to youtube to preserve themselves actually destroyed the flow of the game. The thing ppl don't talk about when speaking on battlers going other places battling is it gave more credibility to url to have guys from their platform show up and show out on other stages which made ppl look more into url but url was so damn greedy to not wanna have the battlers raise their financial value they destroyed that hustle by keeping them exclusive, paying them to renig on battles they planned to do or to outright sabotage someone else event by getting booked then leaving right before the matchup happens
Bro TOO intellectual.salute to spanish.2-3 yra ago he was saying this.hes the samrter verb.give this dude a battle rap class to run at harvard and we get 50 more prepared and aware battlers.salute kiwledge and HHIR too for not heing scary no more lol
"we're not getting classic battles" lol its literally the battlers fault. URL dont write for these guys. And on top of that, these guys dont have a following. They dont want to do anything but show up and rap. You have to build your brand outside of the ring man
I dont think Spanish knows whats going on. P hasn't been around for a minute. I actually think that p no longer serves the role he once had 💯💯💯im just saying 🤷🏿♂️
This interview seems very pointless.....again......dude, u stunk as a battle rapper....therefore u were nobody's priority...u gotta grow up and realize that.
He could easily start his own, this is RU-vid. There's plenty battle rapper's who has a RU-vid platform, and if his happens to be of any substance MFS will tune in.
i remember this channel used to have nobodies music in the intro, and the interview be with a person of importance.....now its reversed u got easy the block captain music, and then a random dude from Manhattan interviewed. lml wats going on with this platform these days

@@k.w.ayusukeff9855 MY POINT IS ABOUT NOT BOOKING THE TRASH PEOPLE THAT CHOKE JUST BECAUSE THEY SELL PPVS AND TICKETS. THAT HAS HURT LEAGUES IN VIEWS TICKET AND PPV SELLS. THATS WHY THE MONEY AINT THERE LIKE IT USED TO BE BECAUSE FANS AND INVESTORS HAVE GROWN TIRED OF THE SAME BOOKING OF CHOKE AND TOP BATTLERS WITH MEDIOCRE PERFORMANCES EVERY CARD. THE NUMBERS DONT LIE. THE MENTALITY TO BOOK TRASH BECAUSE THEY SELL AINT HELPING ANYONE INCLUDING THE LEAGUES THAT DO IT LMAOOOO
