My grandpa is from the Canary Islands 🇮🇨

Canarian Spanish is near and dear to me as a Cuban because they sound very similar to us

Very true, canary spanish had influenced not only the Caribbean it also had influenced the northern part of Venezuela, Colombia and Panama.
