Why are Indians here getting so offended (I'm indian too). This is from a SIMULATOR. It does not (in any way) represent the actual combat capabilites of any country. Great video btw loved it!
Indian destroyers have less MR/LR missiles (32) but better than SM2 because they carry newer and active guided Barak 8s. The frigates carry naval Buks(shtils) for medium range and Barak-1s plus CIWS(AK-630) for point defense. The Indian carrier has the Barak-1 and AK-630 but is being upgraded with the Barak-8. Also the offensive armament for the frigates and destroyers will be the much faster Brahmos instead of the YJ-83 which is closer to the Exocets. The veer class has Kh-35(Russian harpoon) instead of the KH-41, slower missiles but they have 16 each and 76mm dual purpose guns and AK-630s CIWS. Also their carrier fleet is usually supported by at least a squadron of Su-30MKIs configured for anti ship role with Brahmos air launched variant. Also maybe the MiG-29s will fare a bit better after they get the new Astra missiles, although they will be murdered by stealth they might score a few more kills.
Him using SM-2's is a mistake as SM-3's and SM-6's are more common in the USN. The SM-2 isn't bad, but the SM-3 can shoot down satalites and according to the DOD the SM-6 is going to be their stopgap anti-hypersonic weapon until the AN/SEQ-3 can be used for large scale deployment.
@@peterp4037 I mean, war isn't fair, to be... fair... that sounded better in my head, but you get the point. Someone always has the advantage, otherwise nothing would happen. The Russians just make jacked surface ships, and NATO makes jacked aviation.
Only the F105 has Ciws, two radar oerlikons, one on each side. The rest of the class anti missile defence is SM2 and ESSM. JC1 has no defense whatsoever.
Super cap...i think DCS should introduce the Indian Destroyers, Frigates and Corvettes... because our navy uses majority of indigenously made indian ships....and next year they will commision a self made Aircraft carrier.....DCS should introduce the Indian designed and self made Ships.
Love to see more from Cortana and Simba They both were absolutely amazing. Also, can you do another PvP with No.15 Battleaxes? I have seen your earlier video. Would love to see more of Flanker vs Strike Eagle. And sorry that many of my countrymen are giving you a hard time. 🇮🇳
I've said this before, but nothing could be quite so terrifying as an air battle thick with AMRAAMs. When one of those goes 'pitbull', it simply goes for whatever aircraft is front of it, and there is (I've read) _no way_ to stop it at this point. Argh!
@@grimreapers it is indian design cap its name is INS VIKRANT displacement of 42000 tonnes comparable with charles de gaulle its air wing is still not decided most probably it would be mig 29ks but rafale m and fa 18 super hornet are also competitors but the main problem is INS VIKRANT lift size is only 11 m so fa 18 and rafale would be tight fit
@@mohitkrishnayadav8302 There's also the issue of Vikrant doesn't have Catapults... So, Its very likely going to be Mig29K's because a Rafale or F18 hornet can't takeoff from the carrier. Yes, in terms of weigh, it's equal to the Charles De Gaulle, In terms of capabilities, probably not.
@@Justineexy no brother fa 18 super hornet can takeoff from stobar configuration because boeing demonstrated the super hornet ramp takeoff for indian interest u can check utube for that u indian brother??
@@mohitkrishnayadav8302 F18 super hornet taking off from a ski jump is the most inefficient thing ever. It basically takes away every advantage the F18 Super hornet had by using a Ski jump.
AMAZING fight Kortana and Simba! Wow! I'd call that a win for Simba. His mission was to stop Kortana from attacking the fleet and he accomplished that. Fun stuff!
Info is not totally correct. Italy has another carrier and an LHD, and they have both harrier 2 and F-35B plus attack helicopters on the LHD, Spain as also an LHD at least, UK as 2 LHD if i´m not mistaken that can carry the apache, japan has at least 3 LHD/carriers, india at least has 4 2 cv and 2 LHD, and so on go check and get your facts strait. I now this is for DCS but...
Cap Have ever though about doing battles even larger than these incorporating land based assets like land based fighter bombers and missiles? with the h-6j added there is some potential for some intersting stuff.
Curious... Can the fighter jets use their ECM'S to disrupt the navel missiles being fired at surface targets? I mean, more often than not, I see many jets in the air, and missiles are passing right by them to go and kill their ships.. So, why aren't they using all the capabilities to defend the ships? Why not drop a bunch of chaff to disrupt them Too?
Dcs dosnt model it I don't think. Defensive measures are only working for the aircraft that the missile was fired at. You can shoot the missiles down but the AI wont
Hi cap can you make a vs Carrier group between Argentina and UK set in the Exersice Fire Focus of 31 of March 1988? Was one of the most tense moments after the war of 1982. Even the Argentinian forces responded with his own Exersice (operativo Grifo).
@@grimreapers hope they add not only the type 42 destroyers but also the ARA 25 de mayo General Belgrano, A69 corvettes and others ships. Maybe the newers MEKO 360 and MEKO 140.
WHAT A DOGFIGHT at the end!!! India wins, Spain got their peepees spanked, Kortana did amazing work but there was just too much power on the Indian side. one of the best matches I've watched. Kudos!
@@grimreapers I think is a flaw or the spanish ship yard know something because iven our new frigates the f110 they also have the ciws in the back and we have been putting the ciws in the back since the 70 80. I think is something that the engagement will not be frontal, It will be lateral so the ships will always engage oponets laterally. I think that is a OTAN strategy because all the times I see a nato ship firing is always sideways
Try this again now with real Indian assets. From astra missiles to brahmos and real ships of Indian Navy. Iranian mig29s not that advanced as Indian aircrafts are way more advanced. Also Indian carrier group has Diesel electric submarine and a nuclear attack submarine INS chakra also they use barak 8 missiles to defend themselves which is jointly made by India and Israel
From 1492 until 1800s and a language with nearly 500 million Spanish speakers. I would say the Spanish performed very well. The simulation was cheated so the Spanish ships couldn't fire properly, If you watch the video you'll see it. But as always there is someone like you making those comments. Interesting In Spain people are not like that the harsh white supremacist comments only come from one way, yours.
These fights aren't really fair cuz cap ends up guiding the human players to the missiles.... It would have ended long before if he just stuck to commentating.... But he ends up cheating by guiding cortana to the location of the missile which no sane atc guy would be able to pull off at that range with that many missiles
lmao @ simber smashing into the ocean at 500 kts because an unarmed girl is chasing him. Why on earth would you do a split S when you're that fast? Unsurprisingly, there's that coming off power again but it wasn't enough. If you're too fast, go up to get back to the rate band and keep the burner lit to put energy in the jet. You're not going to win the fight by idling below your opponent. And carry a pair of ET's next time, one of them alone is worth 3 adders.
when a stealth fighter armed missile on wing paylong they are not stealth anymore do your homework properly indian fleet is iqupt with 3.2mac bramhos at-least couple year ago and mig 29k also have irst sensor baseb missile witch tak track any stealth plane india alredy prof this with an friendly exercise with us air force raptor and india air force su30mki where su30 easily tract raftpor via irst
Raptor never even came near India in the first place to detect. Also it all works based on the radar cross section and minimising it is the key. Sure it may be on radar but still will be hard for missiles to track. This isn't vikramaditya or its carrier group. It's made to closely resemble it. Mig-29 are not the Indian variants.
The entire mission is flawed because the Spanish ships couldn't fire at the target as the Indian fleet. I don't understand why that always unfair treatment to the Spanish even in a fraking video game. That's something that baffles me. The passive aggressive hatred towards them. Why?.
Spanish assets are mods, they are not perfect. But the combat capabilities are like that. They don't have Ciws, they only have 48 vls cells and that's all. The JC1 doesn't have any defensive armaments. The Indian look alike fleet was just much more capable.
Man that last fight was intense. Cortana is amazing on a tactical level, that jink into Simba and that AIM-120 forcing him to break was brilliant. But then I felt she lost sight of the bigger picture and instead of pressing the advantage she created and going for the carrier, she went after Simba again. And even though she had him on the ropes, he ultimately won the battle by keeping her from bombing the carrier. I feel if she had used that formation of F35's as cover and went for the carrier, she might have scored a draw there.
A friendly advice to both sides; it's just a game simulation for entertainment purposes & don't necessarily reflect the real world capabilities or action. So both sides can relax because at the end of the day, the parameters of those systems are not very close. And in real battle there will be seasoned personel commanding these acts. So just take them as just another fun YT video nothing more nothing less!! Cheers!! 👍
At most you get 3 minutes of warning with a bramhos launch. How theyre modelled they are really hard to defeat in dcs. Real world they are probably the most effective antiship missile currently in service, in dcs they are really effective if there is more than 4 in the air.
Fun fact: Yes. Brahmos flies at a altitude f 5 meters at Mach 3, which is partly why everyone is talking about it. ( also a lot of Indians, which is why Brahmos is getting so much attention lol )
@@Justineexy its not just because of the speed but because of its upcoming version 800 km ,brahmos ng for tejas and brahmos awacs killer then brahmos 2
Because they can skim all the way at mach 3 if it’s configured at Lo-Lo-Lo with reduced range !! One good thing about Brahmos and Yakhont is that this missiles isn’t a Supersonic dash missiles they are supersonic from the start the Ramjets gets activates !
To make the Indian Carrier more realistic this is what i found on wikipedia When delivered, Vikramaditya had yet to be fitted with any on-board armament, leaving her dependent on her battle group for self-defence.[65][66][67][68] This was rectified during the ship's short refit of April-June 2015, when she was fitted with four license-built AK-630 CIWS, and a Barak 1 SAM system stripped from the decommissioned INS Godavari. During the ship's first scheduled major refit in 2017, the Barak 1 system will be replaced with the newly developed Barak 8 long-range air-defence system (LR-SAM), which is currently being tested. It is launched from vertical launch cells, and has an operational range of 0.5-100 km[69][70] The carrier will carry up to 48 missiles.[64][66]
According to what I can find on Wikipedia, in Russian service, while Kiev-class doesn't have Shipwreck missiles, it did have Sandbox missiles. The Baku, the Kiev-class which was later sold to India, had Tors as well. It carried 12 Sandboxes (vs. Kuznetsov's 12 Shipwrecks) and the same 192 Tors, so at that point it was a very close analogue missile-wise; but it had an LHA-style deck and only used the VTOL Yak-38s. It looks like in Indian service the Tors got replaced by Barak 1s and 8s (no idea how those compare) and the Shipwrecks, torpedoes, and large guns were removed completely to add a Kuznesov-style ski-jump. Though that does make me wonder. The Yak-141 (which had a similar lift system as the F-35B does now, back in 1987) was an experiment to upgrade the Yak-38, but they never made it into service and only 4 were built. Given that's the same status as the Su-25T, maybe some day we'll see those in DCS...
"in Indian service the Tors got replaced by Barak 1s and 8s (no idea how those compare)" i'm pretty sure they wouldn't have been replaced if they were better than the Baraks
@@sidv4615 They could have, if the Baraks were much cheaper and/or easier for India to get than Tors. You're right though, they're likely similar or better.
Great video Cap, you did what you could with the assets available. I really hope in a few years we can see Spanish F35B taking off the JC1 but I liked the idea of intermixed fleets. Unfortunately it was decided from start. Spanish F100 frigates are awesome ships for their tonnage but they are no match to Burkes or type 53 destroyers. They only have 48 vls cells and DCS doesn't model ESSM which are their main SHORAD against missiles. Burkes have 192 cells. Of the 5 ships that make the class only the latest, F105, has CIWS, the rest don't have any kind of, just ESSM. JC1 LHA has no defensive armaments. 4 CIWS guns are planned for the next upgrade, but so far it has none. For European navies standards they are top notch and have full aegis combat capabilities, but they are not meant to fight blue navies alone, just as a part of a NATO fleet or against smaller brown navies like Morocco one.
Italy also will have the LHC Trieste capable of operating the F35-B. Also the Carrier for South Korea that Fincantieri proposed, is based on the Trieste Class
There is a theater command protocol India follows. The simulation seems fictitious. Our planes have a formation flight attack. Also the pilots are taught to release all missiles within shortest time possible and return to the shielded areas. Also our slower planes use pack mentality. 4 planes target 1 plane. 4 - 8 rockets fired together at 1 target.
Impossible for the spanish maybe but the US UK China Russia and France all have advanced ciws and rolling airframe missiles Nothing is impossible to stop
As a matter of fact brahmos are only super sonic aegis defence can stop hypersonic missiles the danger to the spanish would be the potential quantity of them
@@anguswaterhouse9255 Also Italy can stop Super Sonic cruise missiles. In future the EU will can stop the Hypersonic missiles with the aster-30N1 missile.
We just had an LHA- Speifically no. 7 the Tripoli visit port in San Francisco and I can't think why- no navy base, munitions are stored 50mi away in Concord, we don't have a repair complex to my knowledge... All I could imagine is that some Lockheed stuff got trucked up from Los Gatos for a small hardware upgrade.
Sorry i am new here, but why doesn this thing have Indian ships? A full fledged Indian Carrier Battle Group would consist of - INS Vikramaditya 2 x Kolkata Class Destroyers 2 x Shivalik Class Frigate 1 x Talwar Class Frigate 1 x Kamorta Class Light Frigate 2 x Deepak Class tankers This is a deadly combo consisting of 56 BrahMos missiles and over 200 SAMs of various ranges(long, med and short) Apart from that, the "cheeky" other fleet would be 3 x Talwar class with 24 BrahMos among them. They are smaller Frigates and Stealthy. Veer and other smaller corvettes are only for coastal defence. Not part of offensive fleets unless absolutely necessary.
These ships aren't in the base game they are all modded in and as he said at the start the mod is incomplete if you look at the british carriers in other videos they are notably less detailed.
There are almost no Indian naval assets modeled in DCS. So, Cap used the closest analogs he could find among the Chinese and Russian naval assets. Unless you know of someone who is willing and able to do the 3D modeling and LUA coding, this is probably as close as you're going to get to seeing the "Indian" Navy in DCS.
Please do a scenario where the indian csg attacks pakistani port city of karachi and it has to defend itself with normally available assets like their navy and the airbase in Karachi that have Mirages and JF 17s believe me u will get 1 billion views!!!
