Fat, tasty Cape Cleveland specimen. Good to see such good fishing so close to a major regional city with a lot of fishos. I’m surprised how easy those herring were to rig up. Good vid.
Cheers mate going to leave the trolling till mid may next year now can't wait love it over there and yeah true that so many fishos here we are very lucky missed a few crackers but learnt a few mistakes
Thanks Brian I had some good luck last year about to get into it again, no trace wire on these I find now the length of the gang hooks act as a trace cause there about 50 cm long and have had a good hook up rates with no trace in the water ,but mate i kick myself when I loose the lot it dose happen ,but if I was going tomorrow I'd run no trace more natural look wins overall for me 👍
Thanks mate all over till may next year now I always use 7/0 straight shank mustard are the best brand I find the hooks seem a good size for both small and large baits
Thanks mate all over till may next year here at the earliest will be back full season chasing Spanish will be a large segment of my channel heading into overnight trips on wrecks now hope you get out and land a great fish man 👍
Thanks Mike I'll start the Mackerel trolling again in mid may next year 👍 back to over trips now and time to do some maintenance on the engine to be safe 😄
Hi sure mate the fishing warehouse sell wolf herring for $9.50 each for huge mackerel take the biggest ones however the smaller ones have a higher strike rate for a variety of sizes and species of mackerel I like to take couple small and acouple big ones 👍
Thanks man these are chingaurd trolling rigs they vary in size and cost normally $25-$35 AU dollars each buying off eBay is the cheaper option you can just buy the chingaurd and put your own choice of hooks on these and just let them go deep and troll at engine idle speed very slow works great 👍
