@@amanda.._.. It looks like a caricature of a gringo would draw Mexico as. I mean the build is good, but it's not accurate at all to a Spanish mission. Which isn't really inherently Mexican either way

@@amanda.._.. no, maybe you can see this kind of builds in the Riviera Maya or very touristic places (beaches mainly, historical or very old villas in the south-center of the country) but its not common

@ilargitxo2 Don't worry about it! It must be frustrating to have people confuse important elements of your culture. I'm English so naturally Spain was my family's chosen holiday destination and we got to stay in some beautiful villas and even a Catalonian windmill one year courtesy of a family friend! I love Spanish architecture and I guess I just got excited about this build haha.

Watching it now. Wow, this place is gorgeous!! It really reminds me a lot of the Spanish Monestary my cousin got married in, in Miami. It was a magical place, and this build is giving me the same vibes!

ilargitxo2 yes it is. It’s based off of missions that the Spanish (from Spain) missionaries built to colonize modern day California and Mexico. So yes, it does relate to Spain and the Spanish style :).

ilargitxo2 oh, I didn’t know that! I live in the US, and have never been to Spain so I just thought that the Spaniards built the missions in the same style as things in Spain. Isn’t the style of the missions called Spanish Revival, or am I just thinking of something else? Well, you learn something new everyday haha :D.

@ilargitxo2 I totally agree, Spanish style looks more like what foreigners would refer to as European style, although there are always differences depending on what region you are in. For example, the architectural style in Barcelona (Gaudi) is very different from the Southern style in Andalusia. But I do need to disagree on one of your other comments, since Spain isn't a completely cold country. It has winters like any other country, just in specific regions it will snow, in other regions like the Costa del Sol or the Coastal parts of Andalusia, winter is usually the rainy season. Along the Mediterranean Coast Spain can reach very high temperatures, inland, where Madrid is located, you will find significantly colder regions, the winters can be quite harsh. Anyways, the Spanish Missions in Latin America only sometimes have a slight hint at European culture, the conquerors were inspired by the architecture of tribes such as Inca, Aztec, Maya, etc. Churches and Christianity were brought to the Americas thanks to the Spaniards, Portuguese and partially the French and Dutch as well. What often annoys me is that most people think Latin American style, culture etc. is very close to what Spain can offer, and they travel to Spain with wrong expectations. For everyone's information: Spain, Portugal, Italy, etc. are NOT in any way like Latin America, Latin Americans have developed their cultures over thousands of years, the colonization only added a tiny bit of Mediterranean culture into the already existing cultures. The same thing with Spain: They colonized vast regions of South and Central America, this didn't really influence a change of culture, only new resources such as plants or animals or minerals originally found only in the Americas were introduced to the Europeans. I hope this helped a bit :)

@@TheMakeupFascination I'm not saying it had bad quality but it was wildly inaccurate and completely ridiculous on the declaration. I'm Mexican so this is part of my culture and it looks like pandering to me, decorations of día de muertos inside a Catholic church? And skeletons guarding the entrance? She's a great builder but that was painful to watch
