Best description I ever heard of Spank came from a non-drummer. My sister said it sounds like he's messing up and starting over. 🤣. His drumming is just incomprehensible. True Prodigy now Legendary.
He’s almost 40 years old lol he done reached the top.. a lot of those choppy drummers tend to rest in the groove and be more relaxed now with what got them to there status..
@@illwill287 his age has nothing do wit his creativity, idk why ppl think age plays a factor in anything beside the law lolol! I’ve always felt this way about his playing! I appreciate his grooves and more than his chops and that’s okay I’m entitled to that! Doesn’t take away from his greatness! 🤷🏾♂️✊🏾
@@JColedrumzz that’s what makes every drummer who they’re! Spanky brought a sound to gospel that he will forever be a 🐐for without question! He took the chance even tho that’s what his situation wit Tye called for! It was his season, his style of play doesn’t go over wit someone like Israel Houghton or Ricky Dilliard for example! He was made for the type of swag and sound Tye brought to gospel!
I totally disagree with you. He is super knowledgeable and an icon for sure. He stands out amongst the rest. He is a master at subdivisions and odd time signatures. For you to say he is repetitive is false. It’s complex. He doesn’t miss the one. Check out his drum lessons on Hudson Music RU-vid.
