That's the Grand Inquisitor from Obi-Wan Kenobi. He was originially just known as the Inquisitor but when they started adding more and more Inquisitors into the canon, they (Disney/Dave Filoni) decided that he is the leader of the group and started referring to him as the Grand Inquisitor. So this would be about 4 years after Kenobi TV Show.
Yes, Is set Four years After Obi-Wan Kenobi. I Wish to see 10 years old Ezra Bridger in Darth Vader miniseries and Eleven years Old Sabine Wren in the sequel of Solo a star wars Story
BTW Zeb is a Lasat. Their appearance is actually based on Ralph McQuarrie's early concept art for Wookies. So that Wookie bit in the episode is a nod to that. They also do use a lot of early concepts that didn't make it in the old Star Wars movies on this show.
TBF basically everyone that has reacted to Rebels have also reacted to TCW. But there's not that many that are reacting to Rebels. But nowadays you have Eme, Holden Hardman(on their Patreon) that have watched TCW and are reacting to Rebels. Aswell as Topness ofc
@@stephanleukes6359 No, it was a technology they've implemented. They just used his voice samples and they still credited him as the voice but he didn't actually record any new lines himself.
Ahhhhh I'm really happy you started with rebels ^^ At first, I throught starting with Bad Batch would be the better option but after thinking about it some more and reading some comments, I have to agree that it's really the better viewing order to first watch rebels
Yes, that is the same character(Grand Inquisitor) as in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. For some reason the actor in Kenobi didn't want to watch his he was portrayed in Rebels(Rebels came way earlier), so they might seem a little different.
Glad to see Rebels here. The show is unfortunately overshadowed by Clone Wars. That was indeed the same Inquisitor from Kenobi, and there will be some other noteworthy names that will pop up later on.
first episode of Star Wars rebels starts the same year that Andor starts To give you reference.. same BBY. it was nice that they got James Earl Jones to do Darth Vader's voice for this series , Well you know what happened he retired his voice recently.. I wonder how that new voice Emulation technology is going to work Whenever they decide to show more Darth Vader.. Glad you liked the beginning of this show, Lots of people were annoyed because they stopped with the clone wars season six, so of course this show got some hate for that reason.. Me personally I didn't watch the first season when it aired I had no clue the show even existed until season two , Plus it was on Disney XD a channel I didn't have ..So of course unless you're paying attention to all the Star Wars news you're not gonna know anything. I ended up getting the channel just for the show a little bit through season two ,i caught up.. The anticipation between each season was crazy Just like with clone wars they definitely know how to end and start the seasons to make you want more...lol
@@TopnessReactions Not nearly as many seasons as TCW but almost just as good. imo, the last arc of TCW is the only thing that makes it better than Rebels. Strictly my opinion. But it should be mentioned that it took a while for me to get into Rebels because I couldn't get past the animation style. I'm so glad I got over that. You're going to be blown away.
@@TopnessReactions Fun fact, Dave Filoni intentionally used camera angles that emulated the OG trilogy (Camera staying on the ground showing the ship fly off). They also used a lot the Star Wars screen transitions like the OGs. Then there's the music. Filoni wanted a heavy OG feeling to his animation.
This show take place five years before episode 4 soo.. early galactic empire Also 0:53 yes that's supposed be what he looks like but...they make him....well you know
Yep the art style for the entire series is based off of Ralph Macquarie's original art designs. The score, by Kiner is based off of Williams scores. You will get the original Star Wars feels throughout. Enjoy!
I absolutely adore this series. I was 10 when Clone Wars first arrived in 2008, and quite a bit older when this one arrived. I didn't get into it live (Who tuned in to Disney XD channel?) That said, the themes in this show are pure Star Wars goodness. If CW brought more context to the prequels, this show highlights the galaxy we live in during the original run. Truly a worthy successor to CW.
@@TopnessReactions like Clone Wars and any other episodic cartoon, you will find there are some episodes that seem like filler in the series. That pacing combined with the animation style and the fact that they canceled Clone Wars to make the show originally, people felt some sort of way about it. Rebels does a fantastic job of making seemingly inconsequential details throughout tie back to the main story. I believe it has the best character work of any of the animated shows.
It helps for me then that I didn’t have to endure that wait/uncertainty for season 7 TCW. I can see why that would have affected people’s opinions on this. These are my favorite types of Star Wars stories though. Yes, I love the main story arc of Star Wars, but I absolutely love the stories that fill out the rest of the Star Wars universe.
This is the Grand Inquisitor from Kenobi. He was given the task of recruiting children so that there would be more Inquisitors. It's not Vader's order, it's Palpatine's. Vader despises the Inquisition. He simply said they were pathetic, but he also said he believed they would do their job. After meeting Vader, the perception of the Grand Inquisitor also changed. He naively thought that he would be able to become a Sith, but after a short training with Vader, he realized that he would only be a tool for the rest of his life.
That seems really apparent in Obi-Wan Kenobi where he uses the position of Grand Inquisitor as some form of game between them as if they need to compete for it.
@@TopnessReactions In Kenobi, this title was used as a trap for a traitor. Vader knew that Reva wanted to kill him. Vader considers the Grand Inquisitor to be loyal and the strongest of them all. So he is worthy of this title. I wouldn't be surprised if in Kenobi Vader ordered the Inquisitor not to defend himself from Reva so she would think she killed him.
@Topness Reactions Well, let's just say that if you can use the force to practice water bending, a strong force user could probably also use it to keep its bodily fluids on the inside. Furthermore: different species, different physics. Last but not least: it makes for a good story.
This show is more of a slow burn than Clone Wars was, at least proportionally, because it's also less seasons. But endure the slow burn and it will really bloom out.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the first two seasons of Rebels except for a few episodes. But the story in the last two seasons was really good. Looking forward to more!
I’ve so been looking forward to this! Every member of the Ghost Crew is in one way or another one of my favorite characters in all of Star Wars! They’re incredibly charismatic as a family with unique dynamics as all their desinty’s are intertwined. The animation isn’t all too great in the first batch of episodes, but rest assured it gets significantly better around the point of Ep5, which is also around the time where the stakes of the show are raised to the limit!
@@TopnessReactions Haha, yes! I've seen many people be confused with the age of the characters in this series, the kids especially, so let me make it clear for you here and now. Whilst I cannot spoil their exact age due to it having significant meaning in upcoming episodes, I will tell you that Sabine is rougly a year and a half older than Ezra!
Rebels feels somehow like a continuation of Clone wars but also is not. It's quite a bit different. It was made during a turbulent time for Lucas Films since Disney just took over. I think Filoni kind of had to walk on egg shells a bit as he made it.
Loved it immensely! Looking forward to getting to know each of the characters. When you previously mentioned a droid named chopper, my mind didn’t jump to astromech…
Wow can’t believe you’re already starting rebels. As you can see the animation style changed quite a lot ( this was made before S7 of clone wars). Also just be aware that this show was intended for kids. The same could be said about Clone Wars but clone wars matured and got more complex as the seasons went on whereas this show doesn’t. But despite that there is some really good Star Wars content to enjoy😀.
Audiences do that as well. Now they’re capitalizing on most Star Wars fans becoming older and more nostalgic. They’ve basically put inhibitor chips in us as kids to always watch Star Wars. Lol
I actually like the brightness and color of it for some reason, so the animation seems to fit perfectly to me. For instance, Sabine’s coloring is top notch!
@@TopnessReactions I love the animation different but it leads the path to season 7 clone wars and the bad batch animation.. Plus the fact that every episode of the clone wars is 1,000,000+ to make... Star Wars rebels every episode is about 400,000 there was a tighter budget for sure... I think they did a wonderful job the team and Dave filoni
Someone mentioned I would see that person again when I watched that episode of TOTJ. That was this guy, huh? That’s neat that he knows of Ahsoka and Ani/Obi.
It kind of pains me to watch this because in the beginning it seems very goofy and slow. But you will form the same bond with these guys as you did with Ahsoka, Rex, and the 501st.
Also, there are four shorts in D+ that aired before the show, to introduce the characters, you should watch them, they're funny and only 4min each. Guess you don't need to record them if you don't want to, they're not part of the story.
