The fact that Arlecchino already did this pretty well (or at the very least made a ton of money in general) makes me terrified for how much they'll make with future harbingers and archons.

Amazing theory! Her power has been hinted by Scaramouche to be something related with conscience...So i think instead of outright transformation she can posses the power of illusion and false dreams or memories,she can enter your head and make you see whatever she wants you to see and can even manipulate you into thinking you are living in the regular world and barely anything has changed when in reality you are under her spell. She is the most intriguing character for me and am saving to C6 R5 her one day, can't wait to see her go off!🔥
That’s a good theory, but considering what Wanderer and Childe say: Let me ask: what should you do if you were to encounter a "damsel" who is oblivious and innocent at any given time, and unconcerned and unfeeling in any given situation? If it were me, I could at least challenge her to a fight. But if it were you... with your conscience, I would stay away from her. -Wanderer The Fatui Harbingers are ranked by strength, and I have no idea why that girl is No. 3. I'd test my skills with every Harbinger who ranks above me if I had the chance, but when it comes to her... something just doesn't feel right. Anyway, you should be careful around her. -Childe Now, Wanderer implied that for whatever reason he would be able to at least challenge her to a duel, but we wouldn’t, and Childe says that he doesn’t know why she’s No. 3. (implying that he has never seen her fight/use her abilities) but that he still doesn’t want to challenge her because "something doesn’t feel right" so this makes me believe that Columbina can just make humans not want to fight her, because she’s too "innocent" (Wanderer even refers to her as that) or whatever, think of it like a siren’s call, after all it would fit with her Fatui title, "Damselette," a Damsel pretending to be in distress, cursing humans who wish to fight her to only feel kindness/pity towards her or something like that, that would explain why Wanderer says that he can challenge her since he’s a puppet, aka obviously not human, and it would explain why Childe, who wants to fight EVERYONE he comes across and isn’t scared by anything can’t bring himself to challenge her, he’s already under her control and he doesn’t even know it. (Btw im making this comment before watching the video so if "The Unlikely Genshin Gamer" said the exact same thing then we just had the same idea lol)
I don’t think it’s necessarily a sirens call. According to the voice direction leak for Columbina (which also gives us her personality traits and appearance), she lacks vigor and appears to be weak like she’s ill or unhealthy. This is true from what we’ve seen so far in the winter nights lazzo video where she has bandages on her wrists and assuming more on other places of her body that we can’t see due to her coat. Wanderer states that despite Columbina looking weak, he doesn’t care and sees her as an easy target. He doesn’t really respect anyone so it makes sense for his character that he doesn’t care who he harms. Childe states that he doesn’t understand why Columbina is ranked so high but he wouldn’t want to battle with her. This is basically him saying he doesn’t want to harm her because she looks so fragile. Anyone with a conscience, human or not, knows better than to battle with someone who’s ill. I don’t think it’s Columbina’s doing where she herself makes others not want to fight her due to psychological powers but instead it’s because she’s not all that healthy physically. I say the reason why she ranks so high is because of whatever race she is. Out of all of the characters in Genshin Impact, she’s the one who actually has wings on her head and pinkish highlights naturally. She’s powerful but she herself doesn’t understand that hence why she’s described as ignorant. I don’t think Columbina is psycho or anything but rather manipulated. She’s also described as shy, polite and respectful in the voice direction leak and I believe she’s misunderstood by the fandom 🤷♀️
It's a tangent, but i am thoroughly obssessed with venti and columbina being foils of each other thematically. The way they both have a superficially naive and youthful exterior but mysterious powers and secrets hinted to be underneath, the angelic imagery and gauzy/feathery white aesthetics, and most interestingly (to me at least) their respective associations with death, transcience, and song -- I'm not sure to what end these thematic parallels exist or even if they are purely coincidental, but if they are intentional they open up an interesting rabbit hole of implications about the game's universe.
if you also read some of the "leak" of Columbina's voice direction for recording of winter night's lazzo, it could provide and fact check some of these theory
This might mean absolutely nothing but I find interesting the fact that Columbina shares the same CN VA with Black Swan (Star Rail) and Aponia (Honkai Impact 3rd). As I said this might mean nothing but CN VAs sometimes voice the same character across games for example Acheron (Star Rail), Raiden Ei (Genshin Impact), and Raiden Mei (Honkai Impact 3rd) share the same CN VA.

The Aeons are actually more Similar to The Heavenly Principles with the Emanators being more Similar to the Archons with Path Striders being more Similar to the Vision Bearers…
Just for more proof of the counterparts, we have Murata Himeko in Honkai Impact 3rd, Himeko in Honkai Star Rail, and Murata the (unreleased) pyro archon in Genshin. They all have connections through their names and Himeko and Murata Himeko both look similar so it’s not far off that Murata does too. Seeing this it’s not too unreasonable that Sparkle is a counterpart to colombina.
So if that means IF the futui are fallen "Masked Fools" then wouldn't the travler whos been traveling worlds for so long notice this eventually? after all they must have come across Masked Fools during their travels
Amazing theory, the harbingers ranked not just in strength, but in political power. I think, the Natlan war was something Columbina did for fun and it's spiralled to the current day. Maybe captaino joined to stop the mess she created
Sparkle counterpart in Genshin is Hutao, Sparkle basically the evolving personality of Hutao, so i think Columbina will be the same but still the opposite of both personality
She sure does have Hutao vibes but Hutao core personality is nothing like hers. She's just not at all shy about the concept of death and the after life, but she not cavalier about it or amused by killing.
Nah, i think each of the fatui is themself besides she and Capitano could be seen in the same place during the fatui trailer so likely not. But something is definitely up with her.
I don't play HSR, but I did watch Sparkle's trailer (many times) and find her character fascinating! Would love to see someone similar in Genshin since I didn't actually follow Sparkle's lore.
Where did you get those "info" about Columbina ? Can we get the references ? like, "Columbina is often the smartest person in the room and plays tricks on people using various disguises".
If you look up the Wikipedia articles for Columbina of the Commedia Dell'arte and the soubrette character in theater you will see that these characterization we used in these shows

video criticism, how about we don't use sparkles attention stealing flashy demo during the theory explanation, it clashes heavily with your intended slow talk form of video. I couldn't hear anything because of it, had to turn on subtitles to have something to focus on. Anyway your theory is nice, certainly has points. But just by the choice of song during la signora funeral, I doubt columbina is gonna be a path of elation if sparkle is supposed to be deadpool, I don't play star rail btw, I'm basing this on whatever has been presented. Maybe columbina can be crazy who knows, but she ain't gonna be sparkle in your face crazy. At least she knows the time and place to stop chasing fun. but the trickery and background character part interested me. The ability to just slip out of focus perhaps.
Thanks for the feedback. I agree that she wont be just like her, thats why i said two sides of the same coin. I'm thinking more an unnerving little girl who is not at all what she appears to be. Asides from that you can hardly take how some portrays them self at a funeral to be how they actually behave most of the time. None of the Harbingers who we have met already, when they were in that scene seemed really like them self at all. Anyway glad the subtitles were useful and thanks for watching.
