I have been a fan of the Sparks for 50 years. This song I never heard " live" ( its dubbed) but still done very very well. That was a breath of fresh air in 1972

Russell and Earle look like theyre having a lot of fun here. its cool to see someone else matching Russell’s energy onstage.

To think this clip was from 50 years ago is quite amazing, especially as today in 2023 Sparks are bigger worldwide than they've ever been. This is the earliest tv show in Europe they were on when Ron still had Russell's mopped hair look. They performed 'Wonder Girl' as well but alas failed to make big with their first album. I think Ron and Russell must have been so heavily influenced by 'The sound of music' movie when they were younger to even attempt to do a cover this song. But what a belter it is, they bring out all the stops with it's ever increasing frenzy up to a church bells 'n all climax. I think if anyone wanted to get into Sparks this would be a perfect start because of it's whole craziness. Get that & you get them. It's a shame they don't revive it again for their live sets cos everybody knows this song. Can you imagine the sound from the huge audiences they are getting now singing along. Pergect end of show song.

There’s some long overdue recognition coming just around the corner for these guys very soon with the new documentary. I’ve been listening to this song since 1974 and I still love the energy of it. I think that Angus Young must have been studying Earle Mankey, the guitarist here, from the Gibson SG to the moves he was making.
