I have newfound respect for "The Gilmore Girls" now. Sort of like when "Tiny Toon Adventures" played music by They Might Be Giants. Some acts are too hip to be kept a secret forever. God bless Ron and Russell!
Absolutely right! And I was surprised by the references in litterature and especially the European literature or Russian like Tolstoï, the French Moliere or Flaubert or Sylvia Plath and Emily Dickinson the American. . I heard about Gilmore Girls many years ago but I watched all the seasons only recently. A delicious "feel good" TV broadcast. Nice to watch this lovely seasons in our so hard times.. .Greetings from Paris! Paris France (not Paris Geller (lol). Nice to watch
@MrJFlashify I don't know dude, GG is in its own class. Ive never seen a weekly, episodic show largely geared toward teens that was so intelligent. This is a perfect example! The girls talk about Kids In The Hall, Norman Mailer, Jack Kerouac, Chuck Berry, etc
This is perhaps my favorite episode EVER!!! It makes me laugh how many people know Mary Lynn from "24", which I have never watched, & yet I STILL have all the lyrics to "Car Song" memorized!!
After watching GG multiple times and only having just got into Sparks, man, am I kicking myself right now! I knew they FELT familiar when I saw Annette!
You know he's 71 years old! No disrespect but I have to wonder if he takes steroids or hormone therapy to look that youthful...even now! He looks amazing.
I was walking thru my living room and i saw my mum was watching Gilmore Girls, and i saw Russel, i was like ,,What?? Is Russel actor or somethin?” No, he was in Gilmore Girls, SPARKS WAS IN GILMORE GIRLS
I'll second that, LAMLKMHWC1. (How can you remember that when you log in..!?) Russell is so cute in this video, it must be the 40th time I've seen this video or so, just to see "Well, screeew the past.."
My hair is long and black....and I like both sparks and Emo Phillips. HA! Both were interests were acquired from a friend of mind with short red hair... Sparks + Emo = nifty people.
How extraordinary! I did not know that so many liked both Emo and Sparks! Their sort of humour must be similar, I haven't really analyzed it, but.. Oh, in the song Good Morning, when they sing "I hope it's just your laugh that is infectious", I was thinking it sounded like an Emo Philips-joke! We really must start a club. Name suggestions?
I found it interesting how the moustache of Ron looked in this episode. In earlier days it looked like the one of Hitler or Chaplin, but here I have to think of "John Waters" ;)!
@@radvibes Hey Iam a long time great Fan of Russell and Ron! ! ! And Ron is a big fan of silent films like Chaplin of Stan and Olli (Laurel &Hardy ). I find it personal always so hurting to see how often people saying that's "Hitlerstyle" And additional to that they haved both an Jewish Anchestry! !
In an interview, Ron explained that a tv appearance they were supposed to do in France was cancelled when the producer saw Ron's mustache. They didn't want to upset viewers with any Hitler references! So after that incident, Ron changed the style. Ron said "I meant it to be Chaplinesque. I didn't mean it to be dictator-esque."
The thinner moustache looks rather suave on him though. Russell looks great here with his lighter, boyish hair cut. It's always a pleasure to watch clever, charismatic Sparks perform.
I hated Gilmore girls but always found myself watching it cos there was nothing else on. Watching the conversations swing back and forth in that show gave me a headache and made me dizzy. Of course this is one of the rare few episodes i missed.
