kinda iffy on the fact sparring does damage, I figured the whole point would be sparring was a means of competing in a low stakes kinda way. Between species like with rex and trike I understand because thats a predatory interaction but interspecies conflict, dibble v dibble tho?
I don’t think it does do damage, at least with locking horns/bashing heads but side shot definitely hurt at least a little cuz well, you got horns shoved up your gut 🤣
@@dtbrex08 fair, I shoulda clarified I meant in terms of gameplay/mechanic rather than realism. Because I assumed dibble v dibble damageless sparring could effectively be the low stakes training wheels to sparring-like mechanics between species (what we have seen between juvie rex and dibble and told what would happen between rex and trike) if it does damage and as much as we have seen here why bother? your both going to be low/not full health and are just asking to get jumped by any nearby carnivores /players in general. it makes perfect sense it would do damage but gameplay wise im still concerned about it.
@@doomcurse1986 its not about realism if you want a friendly spar dont stab your team mate after stunning him, make it so the first who gets knocked down loses
the fact I already know the sparring mechanic will just be used with interspecies aggression and will just enhance cannibalism... I really hope not but knowing the community and many herbi players behaviour I just can't think otherwhise
@@KougaArt you are right, but they usually make 3/4 member packs to just hunt solos (like me) around, I played just a few days ago and after getting spawnkilled by dibble over and over again I just ended up as a ball for stegos going golfing :,) this doesnt mean I hate the mechanic, the exact opposite, I love it
@@rexythetearex5488 in what world exacly? do you perhaps see cows killing each other and cubs irl? even more with a gameplay kind of view its just against the fun of playing a slow paced life that herbis have, It not only ruins the experience but also damages the gameplay as a whole, except being competitive for food, which can easily just be a warning shotout anyways
I got bugged super early and thought that was the actual run animation for the day xD Awesome tips though, there were quite a few that I'd never figured out yet.
as a legacy player for 4 years, I'm so excited to see where this game goes in the future. It has so much potential for immersion, the idea of fighting for territory/mates cool asf
@@Patrick3183 I mean, he said Legacy player for 4 years, not that he has been playing for that much time. Also you can still play Legacy even now, I'm not an OG but I have played half of my playtime in there
@@Patrick3183 Legacy is still active with Community Servers almost full with Events and a Cool community - which I assure you after ALL these years...(yeah it is MANY years indeed), it still is more fun and Bug/Lag - Free than Evrima is to this day... Ironic.. right? xDDD
I really hope sparring will become "ctrl walk mode" so all dinosaurs (or at least all 4 legged ones) will be able to navigate with more precision, like around cliffs
Don't even wait cuz it's buggy. Wait because the only place you can play it is official servers, objectively the worst servers in game filled with nothing but braindead KOSers.
@@Dinoman9877exactly what I’m doing, if I do play hordetesting it would just be to test Utah pounce to pin once Its out, but there are waayyyyy too many canibal dibbles and I prefer semi realism servers anyways
I think this is better because Diablo being 1500kg and being huge in comparison to like cera and teno yous think it was more but I'm glad to see something finally that isn't (Apex) larger than carno
I was a dibble at 25% heading away from Sanctuary when I got attacked by a big carno, was either sub or adult, and I was actually able to knock it down! Dibble is so badass! I felt like I was doomed but I actually fended the carno off and made it run away! Also I was lucky enough to have learned a little bit from one of the QA testers. holding A or D + Space while locked horns strafes around your opponent
Hearing the clash of the horns in game is amazing dope. I watched two diablos spar it out over a female while I was a herra chilling in a tree. Epic to say the least
So far idk how to feel about the sparring It feels janky, unpolished and glitches at times It doesn't feel weighty at least to me and it doesn't feel like I'm locked in a sparring with someone else, but rather I'm trying something but it ain't working And the sparring itself is very confusing, not understanding who wins and how you win or what the hell is going on Idk so far I'm not impressed, I'm hoping so much that they make it "feel" better during the hordetesting
Give them some time, I can't even imagine the amount of work required to do this, just imagine the amount of testing and coding it requires to do the sparring and then you have to include an entire new player and all those variables, hopefully they get it soon tho
@@unboundjackal I am aware of that, it's not like I'm not suprised why it took them so long to make it happen I'm just expressing how I feel about it within the moment, ik they have just released it and prahaps it's not right for me to criticize the sparring just yet But i have said that I'm hoping that they improve it during the hordetesting since ik the test will countinue till at least half of this month which will give them time to polish it greatly I see great potential within the mechanic, if they get it to feel right it'll be an amazing experience no matter how many times you do it
Wait, I thought sparring wasn’t supposed to do damage. Are you supposed to get hurt? I thought it was supposed to be something you could do when you were bored.
Does the bite force actually affect dibble, or does it not, or maybe only affect bite attacks (left click downwards)? Or is the bite force applied to the headbutt attacks aswell?
@@KougaArt Shame. Would be interesting if they had a sort of hierarchy system where started out relevant to your percentage compared to others and could fight your way up. Would probably cause a ton of drama though.
@@paulo_buscape the mechanic thats truly shit is having to start over all over again if u die. But I do agree mechanics from both games are better than the other
Dibble takes less damage when hit in the head, in the spar mode you can easily move yourself to be hit in the head and not in the body. basically: use the spar to defend yourself
@@KougaArt ok indeed the point was over other diablos. it gives you any bonus winning a sparring against diablo. only taking from you stamina and health :/
Uhm no. It gives you enormous advantage in combat with carnivores. You can move way better now with strafing in sparring mode. Dibble has awful turn without sparring
what? its really useful in any fight, u turn faster and u can position urself better since u can move in all directions while facing ur opponent, also it is a pretty fun thing to do with other dibbles.
