A collared dove and a magpie were busy minding their own business when an awful curfuffle occurred in next door’s hedge. Out of view, a sparrowhawk was preying on what appears to be a robin, but seemingly missed out. Then, for some reason, a second bird flies right into the path of the sparrowhawk but again the sparrowhawk appears to leave empty handed. It was all over in seconds and those of us just enjoying a regular daytime stream were left thinking “umm, was that a sparrowhawk?!”. Well yes, turns out it was!
