Another incredible work of art. One thing I would love to see is a video on how you make the end grain cutting boards. I know there are a ton of videos like that out there but yours are the best I have seen. I would love to know what your initial cut sizes are and your method. Keep up the great work.

I agree. I'd love to see the process for making the main board as well as how to make the inlay panels. I always trip myself up with the math involved on making the panels.

Can’t speak for him, but having done this kind of inlay with both a manual veneer press and a vacuum press with breather mesh, go with the vacuum. Depending on how your veneer press is designed, because some of the inlay pieces may have a small surface area, pressure might get applied to the piece in unexpected or uneven ways that can cause the inlay piece to pop out or be pressed unevenly. I only had it happen a couple of times, but that was more than enough. With the vacuum approach (versus a top platten), the breather mesh will ensure that pressure is applied evenly and conforms to the shape of each male inlay.

Can I ask what size are your pieces prior to glue-up? As in 50 x 25 or 2” x 1” kinda thing and how thick are your finished boards. Thanks

Sure, the approximate size is 24x2x1 inches, and the finished boards are usually 2 or 3 inches thick.
