If you got the upgraded shaft you can't run the Teflon tube which is the weight tube you just run it straight to the copper tubing just make sure you have lots of Grease and if the copper tube is spinning it's not sealed right and the back end where it comes out the boat inside the boat at the very end should be silicone then so it doesn't move nor spin
What happened to a solid drive shaft with a CV joint or U joint? With sealed bearings in the housing? Also I've always thought why don't they put a grease fitting on the flex shaft tubing. I melted my traxxas Spartans stuffing tube and twisted the drive flex shaft, and snapped the brass tube and the Teflon liner, from not greasing it after my second run before doing a third run.
The bent part of the stuffing tube goes towards the rear of the boat, with the curve down toward the bottom and just sticks out barely past the grommet so there is a space before the out drive. There is also supposed to be a 2 mm space between the outdrive and the prop dog to prevent wearing. And like everyone says grease every run with a good marine grade waterproof grease.
Does the little plastic tube under the esc wear out too? I changed my stuffing tube/flex shaft and still have lots of vibration coming from the bottom not getting 100% speed
