It was a good match to watch and kudos to the athletes who work hard to get to where they are. Unfortunately, I ve seen some unfortunate mishaps that meant game over for certain athletes. For Ryan Atkins, the moment he failed the rope climb, it was game over for him and he knew it that desperation got to him by skipping the penalty and that got him disqualified and ruined his plan of getting the title right in that match, either way, it was game over for him. Faye Stenning would have won the match against Lindsey and took the championship match away if her hair hadn't got caught in barbed wire, the moment that bad luck happened, it was game over for her lead. Luckily she managed a comeback to podium spot so that's courage right there because if she missed a spear throw after failing a rope climb, like she said herself, it's game over. Even Lindsey failed the final obstacle, luckily she had a big lead, otherwise, her streak would have been game over. Those mishaps proved that one miss and it's often game over for anyone. Other than that, it was a good intense match to watch, and for me personally to learn how the pros do the course. Lesson learned, do not miss an obstacle, not even once, otherwise that one miss will put you in danger zone of game over instantly

Doesn't seem like it's in the "spirit" of the race to elbow or push someone down to win the race...or is that the way they play it??

It is the way Hunter likes to “play”….

Well, I agree that elbowing is the way Hunter loves to make sure he dominates but as long as no hands are being laid on anyone, I don't see why not but I wouldn't recommend elbowing. A friendly shoulder bump would be fine as long as it doesn't escalate to being a bad sport about it. Then again, it is competition and as long as competitors abide by the rules and if a friendly shoulder bump or elbow bump isn't illegal, I don't see why not. If it's legal to give a friendly elbow or shoulder bump just enough to throw an opponent off without doing illegal contact, that's a smart move on Hunter's part and that's how he got the win over Ryan Atkins on that one because he knew he had to do anything to keep Ryan Atkins from winning the title.

7:36 for those interested. Flattest stomach I'd ever come across.

My four sons competed, completed, the Black Mountain Spartan. They are not elite competitors, but they are all winners! White boys!
