Because it was more mainstream and it was easier and more accessible towards younger audiences. If tower battles kept doing the consistent updates and more gamemodes then i definitely think towerr battles would be a competitive rival against tds. But planetearth really lost all hope due to tds just being more preferable with younger people, most of the current players in tower battles are just ogs or veterans who have played this game once in their life, theres rarely a person that just started out on tower battles.

Its sad because i like tower battles but it doesnt get the love its supposed to get, tds copied absolutely everything from tower battles, from the commander, hell not just the commander but every unit in tower battles has be adapted in tds. Apperently they forgot to copy one more thing from the commander in tds so they added the armored militia ability, they added some stupid tower named warden which is just a shameless replica of enforcer and the reason why they didnt added their original "mecha base" was because it was TOO similar to zed, they probably will lose support for blatantly copying tower battles if they added mecha base. Not even the smallest glance or mention to tower battles absolute shameless, they didnt credit planet earth or nothing. I feel planet earths pain to see a fan game turn into an unexpected rival that became a dominant superpower in the front page, even won a bloxy award, not even planet earth has that.
