The finishing quality is very poor. Some of the screws were crushed when I hit them. There's a scratch on the screw, and there's a wooden case, and there's a scratch on it. The finishing quality looks terrible.
These speakers aren’t inexpensive. Am amazed at the very basic (but effective) manufacturing process. Good for those in the western world that sell such products that Labour is cheap in Asia

I'd say that though it all looks a bit rough and ready, judge them by how precise they are with their tools, not how precise it LOOKS like they are. These guys have done this, many many many times and it shows. I am a cabinet and kitchen builder and I was thinking about making some ply cabinets for a hobby, and I was shocked at first, then amazed by the precision these guys have with simple tools, practice and dexterity. At 6:57 I rewound it many times to see if he had a jig to make it that precise, but no, he does that freehand. Mental.
oh I've seen these guys before. They know absolutely nothing about speaker design. Hell, I know more than they do and what I know is a drop in the bucket.
If you want to save money, a good alternative to Durex coating is first spray your primer coat then take some thin rubber strips and throw it in a blender. Mix the rubber grains in black paint then..ta da you have poor man's Durex. Playground sand works too but then you end up with sandpaper cabinets that scuff everything you come in contact with ,like vehicle doors ect.

I built speakers professionally for years. I would not have accepted that as "Pro Audio" level of quality on the cabinets or the design. Ports are not tuned, no wave guide, two way only....scale of 5 I give them a 3.5
Ha ha ha, On a scale of 1/100? I'll give them a "-13". The HVAC guy called. He wants his filter covers back they stole off of his AC units! Those Line-arrays? Are that in name only. It's an "array", alright. An array of what? I don't think that we'll ever really know.......

Awesome video. Just a couple of nitpicking things: 1. The shop looks like it's a mess. Trash everywhere, especially outside. And in the background you can see lots of half-finished/ disassembled speakers. What's up with that? and 2. It looks like the input plate was installed upside down. With any speaker, and especially line arrays, you want to the cables to be going UP into the box and not down. This is important for water run off etc.. for outdoor shows. 3. I didn't see any "loctite" in the video. Some of those bolts on the rigging hardware were hand-tightened, which wouldn't be a big deal if you used some type thread locker like "loctite" or some generic brand. Safety is #1. But overall, great video!
There was a BUNCH of sketchy stuff: watching the drill slip and mark the sides of the grill. The wiring putting pins 1+ & 2+ together?! Really? Not a great cabinet finish, needs a much better coat, that will scuff off quickly. Line array horn has to be the full height of the cab to couple with the cabs on either side otherwise comb filtering. And then there's no ventilation in the shop, tools from 1960, just basic homemade speakers.
Great Job. Guys did you make winding speaker coils ? if yes could you advice a video links / blog adress for learning tutorial and materials for winding ? if not advice new winding , Could you advise a web site for buying this coils and materials?
Not how he sound checked them they aren't. Those are designed to lay flat and stack several in a vertical array, connected by the sturdy metal frames on the ends of the cabinet.
What makes a speaker a LINE ARRAY speaker? These can probably work fine as individual speakers but I wouldn't stack them as line array modules because from what I see, they can't really seamlessly connect above 5-6 kHz... too big gap between the horn waveguide and the side of a speaker.
This is cool! I have some custom hand made speakers that was made 27 years ago and they still sound great better than anything you can buy from a store. Mine are 18" Woofers, Midrange Horn & Tweeters. The only thing I had to replace was the Midrange in 27 years. A friend of mine built them for me. I treated the wood with polyurethane with about five coats to bring the details of the wood out.
If the speakers perform just like "the high quality finish", I'm afraid I'll have to say " pass" to these. I can see it's a long, hard and detailed work but, judging by the way these guys are handling their " instruments", that is a "no-no".

Isso parece caixas do tipo Line Array mas não são. São caixas comuns colocadas uma em cima da outra e penduradas como line array. As caixas line array possuem direcionadores de som bastante sofisticados e elas direcionam o som como se fossem canhões de luz.
I would like to know how do you adjust this line array system before the concert? The price of the line array kits is exorbitant so it is tempting to make one but the problem is the adjustment of the system which is very complicated. So the companies that produce it greatly facilitate the task with software for the placement of each speaker. If you have any software or a quick and easy way to tune your kit I would like to know.
