They should be taught both Pashto and Arabic. I speak fluent Pashto, conversational Urdu and French as my two older children do except the younger one, who doesn't have a clue..!. My son learnt Arabic as an extra course at Uni and it's really useful as there is a large Yemeni community here in Birmingham. My Dad is from East Africa and was lucky to have learnt English, Urdu, Gugurati, Panjabi, Pashto and Swahili. Languages are fun to learn and extremely useful to know.

@@um22w22 It's not a fashion issue. There was the reconquista that changed the alphabet and some words Spanish. Many Arabic and Arabic first names continue to be given and used in Spanish. My partner speaks Arabic and I don't. We went to Morocco recently and it was the first time since we met that I'd heard him speaking it fluently. He enjoyed showing off 😂. It was a little impressive. Ha. Are you teaching your kids to speak?. He didn't, which I think is just a really good opportunity left. Quite easy to swap between the two when younger. Respect for not showing you children's face. X x

If I ask him to write me something for me, he has shown me several different ways. Clever guy!. I can just about remember what I did yesterday.
