1) Avoid any "th" - noise. Use "d" or "s" instead 2) Avoid passive terms, always use indirect speed with "that"(He made me cry= He made sat I cried) 3) Give a gender to things = That's my tree and he is green 4) Try often German word order to use 5) Avoid do/don't, use "not" instead (I see you not) 6) Translate bekomme (=I get) to "become" 7) Mix up "will" + "want" (I want that = I will sat)

I think you explained the german accent very well (in your other video). But eventhough I'm a german I simply can't understand that there are actually some people here in germany that speak the same way you did in this video^^ It was so annoying for me to hear people speaking like that during the english lessons, as I went to school. My english accent isn't perfect but everytime I hear a person pronouncing words like "this" as "siss" I just want to kill that guy, because it hurts my ears xD Furthermore i want to make sure that you english guys don't think that 95% of the germans are to dumb pronouncing your words at least half way correctly. Actually it's just 94% :D
@karstenmeyer1729
@karstenmeyer1729 8 лет назад
Ron Weasly sagt im ersten Harry Potter "It's chessboard".
@Chris1J1Marx
@Chris1J1Marx 8 лет назад

I’m an American living in Leipzig. I love the German accent when they speak English. I especially liked that you finished your talk with ‘bye-bye;’ I’ve noticed all Germans say it, exactly as you did, and it always sticks out to me because it’s English ‘slang,’ but we don’t pronounce it like Germans do. We say ‘buh-bye.’ So then I wonder how the whole country learned this slang term slightly different. Just another element of German charm ☺️

Not "terrible" accent, but rather "thick". German accented English is actually nice to hear and doesn't butcher English too much. So goes for French, Italian and Dutch accents, for example. Terrible accents for English that either sound just baaad or really hard to understand imho are: Indian, mandarin Chinese (as opposed to Cantonese), Korean, Spanish, etc.

- Came here from your "how to do a German accent" and I found this to be an excellent supplement. The over-the-top exaggeration in this one really helps too highlight the concepts that you outlined in the other video. However, i did find that high-pitch / faster speed to be a bit distracting and hard to follow / imitate, so I had to play it back at 0.25 speed so that I could practice and follow along better. THANKS! in just a few minutes between these 2 videos I now have a rough, but workable basis for a new "Cher"man accent.

An English phoneme that is absent in German is the "a" in "accent." I continue to hear Germans say "äccent," even after they've mastered the more difficult English sounds like "th," "w," and "r." Why is this?

When using nouns that don't refer to people (like fun) it's better to say something of x rather than x's something. For example: for the sake of fun rather than fun's sake. Although that could be phrased a little better as just"for fun". That aside, Awesome video!!

00:40 WTF, I was walking around with my new girlfriend and now my wife found this video on youtube. She is very jealous, my wife you know. She has been harassing me for a week now, just because of this, and she keeps on complaining why I didn't put her horse outside in the field but went to feed the ducks instead. Can you please let my wife know this video is just edited with special effects and none of what she sees is real? Tell her it is not really my new girlfriend that I sleep with 3 times a week on mondays, wednesdays and sundays at eight in the Renaissance Hamburg Hotel. You can do so on mywife@luder4luder.de and grant me some nights rest again. Thank you.

Learning languages is really fun and funny.. Sometimes you get to mixed up the sounds or comprehend the context of the word from another language that you know.. Thanks for your funny episodes. At least I've known some 'not so serious' Germans.. he he. I hope you don't get offended.. find your video fun and funny..Thanks.

I don't know what others think or what you personally prefer either, but in my honest opinion, you sound extremely cute with that accent of yours haha It was great to listen to, I've more frequently seen French people with accents in English and not so many Germans and hence it was good to listen to. Your channel ist gut, keep up the good work Rabbit :))

Hahaha, you think you have forests. Take a visit to the Pacific Northwest and you'll come back to Germany thinking your forests are groves or little parks. You're not in a forest till you see bear tracks and the howling of wolves makes you double check your gun is loaded in the middle of the night.

I really enjoy language, and as such have found this video and I am disappointed that you you made your voice different by way of electronic means. Otherwise I enjoyed it, and I earnestly believe that it can be very helpful to people of all accents better understand, and therefore empathize with one another. I would like a better reference, and electronic manipulation may defeat the purpose of this video as I understand it. I want you to know I appreciate very much the videos, this one and the one that lead me to this one very much. I hope you continue on this path, because I think language is wonderful, and I am so glad we all don't speak the same one, because I would have to love computer programming - hehe. keep up the good work please!

The accent reminds me of the accents those horses Klaus, Hans, and Greta have in Ferdinand. "Zis is za beautiful horses side, and zat is za schtinky bull side." Relations!

Why is the German accent horrible? In my ears, it sounds wonderful. Except the much too high voice.

That awkward moment when the auto-generated English subtitles are actually correct when Trixi speaks normally near the end.

When learning a new language it's often helpful to ignore the spelling because it can be very misleading. Try to duplicate the exact sound and cadence of the language first, then try to read it. This is the way the mind acquires language.

I couldn't stop laughing at the dead snail. I mean, it's not nice to laugh at a snail that's not healthy. How would I feel if a snail laughed at me? Sorry snail
