I love how you said "e dide" "e joko" to your children. Normally we say "dide" "joko" to children and teenagers on daily basis. We add "e" when we are adding a tone of respect or when addressing an elder or someone you don't know. Well done. That's a great upbringing. Respect is unique to Yoruba culture. That is not to say we don't respect children though.

Yes you are right "e" can be a form of respect in yoruba and can be use in a plural form Ami using "e dide" isn't a form of respect but addressing the girls to both stand up

@@phillipbolaji4936 yes of course, as long as you're not turning your back to one or more of the listeners. That is a Yoruba courtesy. They include e, o and s (one has a dot under while the other doesn't). The dots change the sounds of the letters in question. That's how I taught a friend of mine😁. Nice to see this!! But as a yoruba speaker. Please be mindful of using Google translate, some words are incorrect. But the kids and Justin actually have an excellent yoruba speaking accent way to go! Most time to use goggle translate that will actually be correct will be for one or 2 words otherwise it will be confusing! Enjoy learning can't wait to see more progress! Ẹkù isẹ óò. ÓdaarỌ. 😍

I VISITED AFRICA ( NIGERIA ) FOR THE FIRST TIME 3 YEARS AGO AND I STARTED TO LEARN YORUBA AS A BEGINNER . I CAN SAY A FEW THINGS LIKE : KINI ORUKO E ? WA NIBI ! LO SIBE YEN ! MAY BE I SHOULD HIRE YOUR GRANDMA TO TEACH ME OR BETTER YET I SHOULD DATE HER TO SPEED UP THE PROCESS THAT WAY I SHOULD BE FLUENT IN YORUBA NEXT TIME I GO TO NIGERIA .
