Shawnasi is wearing that hat well. That was interesting watching how they load those boats. Pretty cool how those plates are made. They seem to need a larger parking lot.

It would be nice if this restaurant had a lunch menu. Some items seemed reasonably priced and some a tad high. I would be interested in seeing the fish plates. Curious to see the presentation and portion size for the price. Thanks for sharing!
I agree. A lunch menu would've been nice. The shrimp and grits that I got, is pretty much in line with everyone else down here who has that. But the fish dinners themselves, seemed very high to me. The place we are going to this afternoon, has the hogfish for $23. It's an 8 oz portion. At the place in this review, the hogfish is $36. If it's a 12+ ounce portion, that might partially justify it. But it doesn't really say how big it is. That's probably what I would've gotten, had it been priced more reasonably, or if I knew it was a bigger portion. But I wasn't about to pay that, knowing I was going to the other place today, and can get it for $13 cheaper. What we got, was good. But it would not have been my first choice. She was wanting shrimp tacos, so it kind of worked out for her, even though they put grouper in them instead. But I just wasn't about to pay that, not knowing how much fish would come with it. I guess I could have asked. Here's the kicker…just the fish-and-chips meal, was also $36. Fish-and-chips is usually a more reasonable option in most places.
@@NCMemoryMakers you are right about the fish and chips. That should have been priced around the same price as your shrimp and grits. I don’t recall ever having Hogfish so I am interested in seeing your review at the next place you go.
@@vafunseekers Hogfish is one of the ugliest fish that is actually edible, but ironically, it is one of the best tasting. Tried it last year at this same place. I'm not sure if that's what I'll be getting today, because they also have something called triple tail, which is another highly rated fish. I don't think I've ever had it, either. The Hogfish is under our review of Walt's Fish Market in Sarasota, from a year ago. We're going to do another review today. I have to tell you, we never got so much angry feedback over a review, as we did on this one last year. And it really wasn't even a bad review. Some of it was very good, but there were a couple of things we pointed out that could have been better. And I'm telling you, the hounds got unleashed on us. Been to this place 3 times previously, and the first 2 times were outstanding. Last year, was average. So, we're hoping for a really good experience today.
I did end up putting this place tentatively on our list of places to stop at...we'll let you know what we think if we make it. We'll be heading down after the first of the year.

@@NCMemoryMakers will do! Seems like I always make up a list of places...then whitle the list down...then find more places...then whitle it down again! Then always seem to have to adjust due to time and weather...I do like to have a loose knit plan to begin with though. This started off for us by being fans of the show Diners Drive-Ins and Dives and that has made a major change in my way of thinking about which restaurants to go to. We switched from just hitting the big chain places everywhere we'd go to begin seeking out the mom and pop places out there. We've met some great people in the process!
There was. There were a few people inside, and a party of about 6-7 people outside, by the time we left. We also went not long after they opened. When we drove out there the other night to look at it, it was jam packed. They have live entertainment at night, and I think that's probably when most people go. We don't care anything about that, so we went for lunch. I generally try to not record other patrons when I can help it. Sometimes I can't help it.
