Come along with us today as we go Spearfishing in Kachemak Bay in Alaska. We get some nice fish and cook them up for dinner. Then as a bonus, we find some rock oysters and a scallop to eat over the fire. We hope you enjoy coming along!

You are probably right for that depth. We were probably only 12-18 feet down for some of those and were weighted to be neutral around -30. There also was a lot of current there, it was like diving in a river at times.

If you have a 7.5 mm suite it’s not bad at all in the summer. I can stay out for two to three hours.

where in kachemak has the best vis and fishing? asking for a friend ;)

The visibility really changes during the summer, and as the summer progresses the visibility decreases. In general, the further out towards open water, the clearer it gets and the better the fishing.

i used to scuba off cali catalina n mexico . nvr used fins like u have what are benifits of those? compard to reg stiffer ones?

These are specific for freediving. You get a lot of propulsion with big steady movements. They seem to work well as you are holding your breath and trying to move smoothly.

@@jasoncosner733 you should go by Dive Alaska. They have message groups for local divers to meetup. They can get you dry suit certified as well.
