In this episode I dig into the African Spearfishing Diaries archives to a trip I did with Rob Allen and Jeremy Williams to visit some friends in the Mozambican capital, Maputo.
Despite its proximity to the bustling city, the surrounding waters teem with wrecks, reefs and inlets providing an exceptional array of fish species. One such species is the Malabar Grouper that grow to an impressive size due to the large amount of reef structure available to them. This is African Spearfishing Diaries.

Barret you are putting out some awesome videos for us, thanks heaps. Love the edits and the commentary. Do the Malabar Grouper have a size limit? We are not allow to take them if they are over a 1meter long.

No the bigger the better in Mozam. If anything the small ones can’t be shot but not entirely sure. Probably better to protect them at the size where they are producing eggs I would say but I don’t think it’s like that in Mozam or on the east coast of Africa.
