Boy, this made me both happy and homesick. I spent 3 years stationed in Guam where I developed my love for Spearfishing. I left considering that place home and with so much love for the island, the people, and the ocean. And now I'm here in Tampa. Glad to still be near the ocean, but very different from what Im used to. Awesome video, love your content.

Those dogs are called boonie dogs! We brought one back stateside with us when we left Guam. They're very prevalent on the islands.

Since part 1 of this video aired I’ve been like “craving” to see what’s next. An emotional trip consisting of numerous airplane rides and layovers and to see a family reunited after a decade or so really touched me. Then the dog bonding and the spearfishing and he cultural cooking and recipe, man it truly is a blessing to have a chance to watch you live such an inspiring life for all us to watch. So I want to thank you for taking the time to share it all with us. The numerous countless hours it must take to share 15-30 minutes of film makes my day amazing!! I watch at work, on break of course “cough cough” and at home and every chance I get I’m watching DMFD. I look forward to all the videos and the blessings before chowing down. Hey Rob, I’m a selfish subscriber - I just love watching but I never comment; until now. My dad grew up on Guam where Finidinni sauce is a TOP recipe for white steamed rice and fish: 1/4 cup lime, 2 Tbsp soy sauce, chopped onion chives and crushed red pepper ‘al gusto’. My family is addicted to it. I was so pleased to hear that dear lady mention that sauce! P.s. I have every ‘no-msg’ seasoning that Everglades puts out and it’s your fault. I’ve had to take much eye-rolling from my wife.

Love this channel!! I live in northern california and i fly and conventional fish the sacramento and trinity river for trout and steelhead!! Would love for you to join us for a trip here, its very beautiful!! We had a very rough last couple months due to a firenado with 170mph winds that burned 1200 homes in our community and 260k acres, but we are very resilient here and you would see that if you came and fished!! 🤙🏼

I moved to Rota 6 years ago from Illinois it was always my dream to retire on a small tropical island. I grew up near a very small town of 500 people in a farming Community back in Illinois and missed the small-town atmosphere. Rota is everything I dreamed of and more!

I’ve been a subscriber for this channel for a while now. I must admit, it never crossed my mind that Rob would be where he is right now, on Luta(I was born and raised in Saipan). I think it’s safe to say that if you really want to live life to its fullest, taking a page from Rob’s book is a quick way to get there. I love this channel. I am very depressed and used to live off the coast of Mass in Marshfield and fishing was my life now I can't really do it. this channel helps me feel the spirit of the whole thing when cooking my grocery store fish that i wish came out of the bay!
