Howzit going everybody! In today's video I went diving with my friend Rayse to one of our favorite deep reef zones in search of some good fish. We got super lucky and had one of our best shore dives ever, landing both big and high quality fish. Stay tuned for some of the best shore dive action I've ever had!

Usually my dives range from 2:00-2:30 depending the depth and if I shoot a fish or not lol.

I have a pretty comprehensive book, "The Ultimate Guide to Hawaiian Reef Fishes" by Hoover that gives no Hawaiian name for (either of) the knifejaw species.

@@quinnculver I just think it's a little odd to hear a bit bunch of Hawaiian names for fish and then "knife jaw". Thanks for the info!

Knifejaw only started showing up in Hawaii relatively recently, which I think is why they were never given really given a Hawaiian name.

@Lecheparr One theory, being a deeper fish and what it eats, is that Hawaiians never caught it fishing so never knew it existed.
