Thanks for the comment! A lot of spearos haven’t seen a ling to be fair. Deeper hole hunting/wreck hunting in Scotland Is probably best chance to find them but never know when you might bump into one!
Great video Mate I gutted I didn't manage to get a dive with you when you where up my way. Really hope you will be back at some point and we can get a dive 🤞🤙🎯🐟
Great parts😊 Very exciting to follow the progress of the trip and the different species you come across. Congratulations on the UK record👌 Is it "Raja brachyura" or "blonde ray" you see there? We experienced something similar here in Norway. A bunch of rays gathered on the ground to spawn. Egg capsules too. Most likely the species of thornback ray we saw at the time. Keep up the good work🤿👌
Thanks for the comment! There’s a few more species out there that I’d like to catch and potentially new British records! I think all the rays I saw in that bay were spotted rays (Raja montagui)! Very similar looking to the blonde ray but the spots don’t go to the edge of the wings. They don’t get very large
@@Alex_Anders I’ve subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing your vids! The UK sea has been hammered but people might be surprised by how good the sea can be here. Lots of species and some big specimens. Used to be a lot better in the past!
incredible trip, the misses is now a big fan of your videos and wants to make a start on the rest of collection. interesting to see bass that far north
Thanks Grant, hopefully I’ll get some more videos up this year. I like the spearo in transit series where I travel about, explore new places and live off seafood.
Awesome video mate! That flounder at the start was mad, I often find they spook for me 😳 Congratulations on the ling, and all the other lovely fish too, I really enjoyed this one, great editing and fantastic footage. You seem to have found some incredible ground up there with a great mix of species. Good to hear the van is running well and the window is still in. 😅 Hopefully we can get that boat trip in down here if the weather holds out 🤞😁
i’ve heard your quite new to spearfishing, maybe try altering your approach if they always spook for you , it does take a while to figure it all out , maybe your trying in an area that’s heavily over fished?
@@ryane8881 yeah mate clearly!! They often sit there when I shoot them but when I try to grab them they bolt off, those plaice the other day were great fun to catch though, and they didn't spook at all 😁 Look forward to diving with you again soon bro 😁👊
Enjoyed that. Did you make it over to the west? I haven't been spearfishing since arriving in Argyll last year. I know that if I hit the right places it ought to be good, but still discovering marks by kayak fishing.
I went down the west coast pretty quickly as the weather was rubbish and I ran out of time. Dived a few places and got pollock, scallops and a few other catches but nothing amazing
