Spec Ops: The Line - Movie Edition (1080p 60 FPS)

Perfect story showing the horrors of war, and with perfect editing so there's no prolonged gameplay? Perfect videogame movie.

WTF if my commander starts talking to himself and to a broken walkie talkie, I would refuse to follow him immediately. I think Lugo and Adams were just as nuts.

Spent nearly 10 years in the military. That lynching scene? Can't honestly say I know a soldier who wouldn't have shot those civilians themselves. In many ways this one was much more poignant than the airport massacre from Call of Duty. And that white phosphorus scene. Whoa!

You know what i noticed? The 33rd's appearance throughout the game drastically changed. The first time you encounter them, they look pretty disorganized and unequipped. Their ACUs are dirty and a mess, some are not even wearing body armor, and most of them don't even wore helmets. They look more like scavengers and not soldiers. But as you progress through the game, you can see that the 33rd soldiers were slowly start to organize themselves. Most noticably in chapter 14. Every soldier you fought in that chapter were all wearing Helmets. Not a single soldier was wearing no headgear or a hat. Their ACUs looked clean and feels like they were pretty equipped. The 33rd now look like your average US soldiers.

definitely an underrated gem. I purchased this binary domain and vanquish all at the same time and I have to say the story was awesome. I would like to see a sequel or something of the sort.

Just want you to know that I like the way you play the game and how you purposefully focus the camera on things that matter, or just move at a slower pace to show off the atmosphere (like the first shot of Dubai). Other walkthrough videos of this game sometimes look like they're being played by a headless chicken.

My favorite detail in this game is when you play the last level with Adams. If you accidentally shoot him, he’ll get angry and say stuff like “Don’t you fucking tempt me!” And if you take too long to heal him, he’ll call you out and say “You’re gonna leave me now too?”

Each year I like to come back and play/watch this game from start to finish, I just think it deserves it!

Notice how ADAMS is an exact copy of Griggs from MW1 Black dude wielding an LMG with an explosive expertise. I think it's deliberate. The game deliberately uses other tropes as a disguise this is just another one.

I wouldn't be able to do it. There's a point during this story where I couldn't stay on the same side as Walker. I would have rather died. Die a hero or live as a villain takes on a whole new meaning here.

Wow, what a road, amazing game, if only more modern games take care of story telling like this

The thing is, the scene resulting from the white phosphorus mortaring most likely could've been avoided if they hadn't fired that last shot.

I had forgotten how much the music played a part in this and how well the sound design/editing was done. One of the better showcases for VA too. EDIT: also shoutout to Bjork's "Storm." I didn't remember that actually being in the game in some form, but i remember those trailers....

Honestly they really didn't justify why Adams and Lugo stuck around after Walker started talking into a broken radio and was clearly insane. It also makes no sense for them to have been figments of Walker's imagination the whole time either. I like this game but there are some parts which seem too strange to justify.

I love it in games when you learn something new every time you watch or play them. For example, I just now found out that at 2:07:22 , a civilian uses the famous "You brought this on yourself." line, but this time, it's directed at Walker instead of the other way around.

Spec Ops: The Line Explained John Konrad in charge of the 33rd Battalion of the United States Army go into Dubai to evacuate the city from the Sand Storms that terrorized the city, after the evacuation failed Dubai was left to die but the 33rd went rogue and stayed in order to help Dubai survive, martial law was in order and water was heavily controlled by the 33rd. Konrad attempted to evacuate the civilians again however it was a massive failure, causing the lives of over hundreds of thousands of people to die(this incident is shown in the start of Chapter One with all the cars on the highway covered in sand, out of guilt and intense PTSD John Konrad gave one final order to the 33rd Battalion of the United States Army, Hold The Line….., John Konrad writes his Wife a poem and a letter to his son before committing suicide on top of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in Dubai, in attempt the control Dubai the 33rd commit heavy crimes against civilians who resisted, this caused the 33rd to spilt and a civil war started between the now 33rd Exiles vs The Dammed 33rd, The Dammed won and controlled Dubai while the Exiles resisted, Grey Fox a CIA team comes into Dubai to destroy the truth, and arm the refugees who resisted the 33rd both Exlies and Dammed to fight against them both, the CIA are not there for the good of the Dubai Insurgents but for the best interests of the United States of America, if the Middle East found out the crimes of the 33rd they would blame the United States and declare war and that is a war that they will not win. The Radio Man also becomes a source of intel, communication, and moral, for the The Dammed. The 33rd(unsure if it is the Exiles or The Dammed) send out a distress signal that the Government sends Delta Force to find survivors, So by the time Delta arrives Dubai is a hellish war zone. The motivations of each group of fighters The Dammed 33rd: To Control Dubai to keep order and peace. The 33rd Exiles: Resist the crimes of The Dammed 33rd. CIA Grey Fox Team: To ensure the United States does not face consequences for the actions of the 33rd Battalion. Dubai Insurgents: To free Dubai of American 33rd control no matter if they are Exiles or The Dammed with support from Grey Fox. Delta Force: To find survivors and help the 33rd out of Dubai and go back home to America. Captain Martian Walker: To bring justice to John Konrad and rescue the refugees of Dubai. To become a “hero.”

Wait why couldnt just hack into the transmitter at the storm wall to contact Command to send in the evac team. Also the evacuation force could've dealt with the 33rd

Bit dumb on Conrad's character, WP's thermite like effect, also Walker's character, and completely disappeared UAE itself's mans, but terror is well described.

Subtitles is NOT a Cinematic Experience. I have never seen any subtitles in ANY Movie i have ever seen. My last flick was the new star wars, wow what an awesome fucking movie, If I had to read subs the whole movie that would totally fucking ruin it. Its like 90% of all Gaming video channels are too fucking lazy to turn subs off and use the excuse that an OVERWHELMING amount of Deaf people watch their videos (yea right) so sad
