Hope you get one. The Ferrari 360 and AM Vantage will be the perfect 2 car garage. I want one as well but at the moment its to expensive. About 200 000 euro in Italy for the spec i want. But maybe next year. Would love to have a Zaffre Blue or Divine Red with the Copper Tan interior and gloss black details on the diffusor and other exterior bits. Watt on a soundsystem actually doesn't say anything about how good a soundsystem is. It all depends on impedance, sensitivity on the speakers, da converters, the speaker placement and various of other bits. Keep the good videos coming.

Someone’s going to get burnt buying a new Aston Martin. How much is that going to depreciate in 10 months?? Why buy one just because you’ve been smooshed by the manufacturer. Had an Aston for a couple of years, absolute pile of overpriced junk. Don’t waste your money, the clever guys are buying GT 3’s. £147000.00, it’ll be sub £110000 by May 2019.

Jim Smith. Not everyone cares about the depriation. I´d rather have a car i like that depritiates a bit then a car i don't like that doesn't. And a 911 Gt3 i dont like the looks. If i could get a Touring Pack then i could consider it. But i can't since i don't have money for it right now.

The new vantage looks fantastic. Very spec dependent though, but I'm sure you'll make a good choice - please keep the lightweight wheels!!! They're so much better and not much more expensive than decent aftermarket options

Ok, another example. High spec Cayman S vs a GT4. The GT4 is a completely different car. If you're focusing on performance and not extended leather then you're always going to want the best drive for your money.

Get the green, especially if you don't wanna wrap it.. Yellow might not be a great option for a daily.. Also not sure (might be wrong) yellow is a historic Aston color, it's more of a Ferrari/ Lambo color.. Aston deserves a green or a blue (my two cents :D)..

Sam is talking about financing, so he's not buying the car outright for cash, which means he can't afford it. I really agree with the comment "don't go broke trying to look rich". Try watching some of Dave Ramsey's RU-vid videos on money. What he says about financing is "When you say you can afford the car, what you actually mean is you can just about afford to make the repayments right now". In other words, if your situation changes at all, you'll be in trouble. If you're having to cut really basic options off the car, then that really says you can't afford it. But each to their own at the end of the day. Good luck!

I think you'd be better off ditching the audio and putting the lighter weight wheels back on at a compromise of 2k. Lighter wheels will reduce the unsprung mass which in turn improves the handling, however significant that may be.. Just thinking of how much you'd be driving the car 'spiritedly' on the many road trips you do, this could be a key factor to the enjoyment of such a vehicle. keep up the amazing work!!

I doubt a novice driver could tell the difference between the wheels when driving on the road. If it's a track car and you're constantly going 10/10 then maybe it would be something to think about, but from the way he seems to be using his cars I would pick the audio system over the wheels every time.

I think once you have to start holding back on spec it becomes clear you can’t actually afford it. Quibbling over £100 a month is the difference between comfortably being able to afford something and pushing it to the limit

regardless of the movement in price, your logic of you can only afford it if you can buy it out right is rubbish. My car new is roughly £40k, can i afford to spend 40k on a car in cash ? no i cant however i put a decent deposit down and can easily afford the monthly payments to a point of not even noticing them. However by your logic i still cant afford the car ?

George West I agree, a lot of young people look down on financing or leasing but it’s actually a more smarter move then buying a depreciating asset. That money can be used to invest in property or whatever. And yeah they will happily get a phone contract which is basically financing or get a mortgage but when it comes to a car you are classed as poor for doing it. Silly mentality in my opinion but least the few of us understand how to make money and not lose most of it.

The new AM Vantage is beautiful! I'd so that no matter what the car, the wheels always change the car's look. Make sure you're absolutely happy with those. Given the sound is almost doubled in watts from the old vantage, I'd say that the standard sound system would be more than enough with 400W in!

anyone seeing a pattern here? sam is always lusting over the higher end cars out of his means but always ends up buying a basic specced car and then doing all the upgrades after just to feel better about his car. to name a few he tried to make his standard 360 closer to the 360 challenge stradele and he basically turned his 540c into a 570s while saying that the 540c is better. quite frustrating to see Sam hold back himself in speccing his new car. really defeats the purpose of building his car from scratch if he's just going over to dub customs to do a bunch of upgrades over his basic specced car yea?

Josh Charlie The depreciation is calculated into your lease payment. It doesn't matter if you pay cash, finance or lease the car, you still can't get away from the depreciation. The only way that can happen is if the leasing company completely miscalculates the residual value.

Sam , first of all, the color presently chosen looks like something you squeeze,on a hotdog. I think that there are many gorgeous shades of green that you could pursue. Money wise , you sure could use that $147,000.00 plus somewhere else. I was on top of my game and then I got sick. Not easy starting over at 58. Just food for thought, good luck on your venture.

I think it would be fabulous if you can work out the finances to get the new Vantage. I love the mark as I own a 2010 V8 Vantage and absolutely love it. If the new stereo system is as good as the premium of my model it will be fantastic! I love the subwoofer behind the drivers seat. Good luck Sam!

Can honestly say i have never had the chance to spec a car myself and probably never will do, however watching this video, I would say that if debating on options here and there for saving a bit of money basically means your pushing the boundaries of what you can realistically afford.

Not a massive fan of the yellow myself but it looked pretty different from the configurator to the car in the showroom so maybe it'll look a lot better than expected. Personally I'm a fan of the flugplatz blue but that's probably rather expensive

I really think you need to spec exterior carbon. Maybe not all the underhood carbon and that BS but I think the front grill, side skirts, rear diffuser simply because of resale value. You said you keep a car 10-12 months so I’d think of that especially if it’s a price difference of a couple hundred quid

If you can “afford” $138K but not $147K, then you probably can’t afford to get this car. It’s not worth trying to impress people on RU-vid. You have a great Porsche that so many people would love to have. Material things will never satisfy you if you are wanting them to show off to others. Go drive the cars you have and enjoy them.

That's an untrue statement. Using that logic if someone could afford an $80,000 car then they could afford a $100,000 car and if they could afford a $100,000 car then they could afford a $120,000 so on and so on. There is a limit to everything.

venom5809 yeah, but $9K is nothing when you are talking $100,000 +. Also, it’s not the same as saving $80,000 and buying an $80,000 car but not being able to afford $90,000. He is financing this as well as his other cars. He doesn’t have the money to buy it.

+Lindsey Rarey, most people finance their cars and their homes, that has nothing to do with anything. As long as you can make your payments on your debts, by definition you can afford whatever you have, the minute you can no longer do that, then you cannot afford it anymore. Also, if you have the cash for something and you can invest it and make more money in interest on it then you would paying interest on a loan and you still buy the item cash, then you are a moron. Say the interest rate on your loan was 3% and you could make 15% a year investing it you would be pretty dumb to buy the car or house cash.

if you do not learn to budget you will forever be poor, sam clearly has a budget and is sticking to it. it doesnt matter if its in a million 9k is 9k . "ohh its only another 9k in 100k ....ohh its only another 20k" before you know it you're skint and struggling to make the payments.

Hi Sam, I find your earlier idea about an F-Type more attractive. Actually, I think the F-Type is more beautiful than the Aston Martin Vantage. The F-type V6 has a real Jaguar engine. It is much more balanced and a pure driver's car. However, the Aston Martin has a Mercedes engine. No matter how you specify the car, it will never give you the experience of a classic Aston Martin. Whatever you decide, try to ensure that you do not end up in financial trouble. Your Porsche is a good car, but not a car with which you can build an emotional bond. I think it's a good plan to replace the Porsche soon.

It's time for me to become part of the Branston brand by buying my next pot of pickle. I'm so excited by everything it represents. It nearly twice the price of Aldi's pickle but I love the lifestyle experience it will give me.

Figure out how much the bespoke heritage AMR british racing green would cost compared to your yellow and get rid of the carbon to compensate the prise difference.

Optional extras cost a fortune on finance when I checked. The extras are paid for in full, whereas the car you pay depreciation only. Go as standard as possible, it'll still be a great car
