Good to see someone has bought this to review, thanks 👍 I like the Santos style, but I wish they had copied the smaller version and maybe useda quartz to reduce the thickness.
Would have been nice to know the lug to lug measure. Also if the bracelet has sharp edges. In a lot of other Specht & Sohne videos the reviewers complain about the sharp edges making the watch uncomfortable to wear.
I have the S&S aquanaut homage and love it, amazing quality for $50 …. automatic I own the black grey brushed bezel black dial santos, my favorite watch and highly recommend Cartier The santos has a no tool easy link removal system for sixing, similar to chopard or VC good video mine is 40 mm by 40 mm, the santos is about 10 mm thick and wears amazing, the case is curved.
Their item specifications had it listed at 44 but I see that their diagram disagrees with that. My calipers are out of commission at the moment so I went with what the specifications page had.
I strongly considered buying the gold/stainless version, but I can't seem to find enough on wrist pictures (especially a female wrist, since this is a unisex watch, much like the original). I even reached out directly to the manufacturer. The watch specs say 37mm, but this video states 40-something mm, others have said the same. And on wrist (in this video, at least) it does appear to wear larger than 37mm. Can you confirm?
Well, if anyone goes looking for this model, they won't find it. Cartier sued, claiming copyright infringement and now this model has been changed. The new version is not attractive. I should have purchased one when they were originally released.
@@MichaelV89 Really? I can't find it and all of the links from the seller's that I saved all take me to the new version. The picture in the saved link looks like the Santos version, but the actual ad is the new design. Care to share the link you used? If like to order it now.
@@MichaelV89 Actually, I messaged the seller and asked if you can still get the original "homage" copy. They said that you can, but you have to message them and specify you want the original version and not the new one.
@@NotAnotherWatchChannel no I mean at this point, I think it's better to take the name too. I rather wear one that says cartier than one that says Specht & sohne.
There's a difference between taking inspiration and literally copying everything buy the a few letters of the brand name! And to answer your question about those other 'hommage brands'. In my humble opinion if they're blatant ripoff except a few letters, than yes its a copy. Let's not play word games to make ourselves feel better here. We all know what's going on@@NotAnotherWatchChannel
I have the watch and it is 37mm wide and 46mm lug to lug. It is only 42mm wide at the crown. Get out your caliper. for areview. The crown is pretty hard to turn as it is set well back between the crown guards. I would have preferred a mecha quartz movement in this watch although I am not sure if they have a date wheel in the VH series. Dress watches do not need a date. Cartier makes many quartz watches. My wife has a 30 year old Santos Ronde 32mm in quartz.Very thin and elegant
I mean people can buy whatever they want but that's just not a hommage anymore, that's just a straight up ripp off...I am still in University and obviously cannot afford the real thing but I wouldn't buy such an obvious rip off either. Having a bit of uniqueness in the design would've been much better in my opinion.
@@NotAnotherWatchChannel For me the line is drawn when there's no own design philosophy behind it. Take the Vacheron Constantin Overseas and the Frederique Constant Highlife for example. Both watches have a lot of similarity and FC definitley took inspiration from Vacherons design, however they did it in their own way so that it's a worthy hommage rather than a ripp off. Pagani Design just takes all the measurements from Rolex and just puts a different name on the Dial, it's just not something I would want to wear.
As long as it's legal, I don't see anything wrong with it. Seiko copies Cartier, Rolex, Omega, etc. Tissot copies Cartier, Orient copies Rolex, Timex copies Rolex, etc. etc. The list goes on and on, and it appears that it is the industry norm to copy another brand.
