My favorite part is they will patch things like this in a solo player game but if I try to go down in vault 111 without my vault suit on, the game doesn’t load! It’s been like that since launch
I have a really old save file where the only thing I've done in the game so far was the dogmeat special glitch enough times to max out special. That's my new game start I haven't started a new game and had the bombs drop in years.
Way easier way which still works ive checked is to create a coneyor belt storage and attach one conveyor belt to that. Get dog meat toss your special book onto conveyor tell dog meat to pick it up but make sure he picks it up after it enters the storage youll be able to time it easily hes rather slow at getting it tbh, he will drop a brand new your special book at your feet and the old one will be in the storage thing. Rinse and repeat till all your special abilities are maxed.
It’s still working although this guy didn’t explain it correctly, when you go to scrap and store in workbench the scrap and store option will show up. While still holding the scrap button you press yes on both options then take out of storage, choose perk, then repeat
@KingBoogly if you build a conveyor and a storage for the conveyor and put the book on the belt, you can copy the book by picking it up before it goes into storage and you will have two books. Then you keep 2 dud books and copy those and it gives you a fresh special book. Just repeat till all stats maxed.
@batmanwest46 You can also increase some stats beyond 10, for example with intelligence. Simply drink some beer, which will make the game think your intelligence is 9 since beer lowers intelligence for a little bit, so itll let you increase intelligence again, thus allowing 11 int(or more)
It's easy to do. Hold the scrap button then let go and immediately press and hold the store button, the scrap and store dialog for both should pop up overlaying one another then while holding the store button hit the accept button twice. If you mess up cancel and repeat
If on console, after you do the spiked knuckles step, put 1 finger on the scrap button ( [ ] or X) and a different finger from the other hand on the store button ( O or B). Then press Scrap button but hold the button, and as soon as you release pressure, press Store button with the other hands finger. Then you need to read book after you take it out and i also stored it 1 time before i redo glitch just for good measure. I found this increases the chance of getting both windows to pop up for special book, and for scrap material. Just make sure to scrap junk to base materials for an easier time dupeing. Otherwise, globes, typwriters, and cans are going to make a mess of your settlement.
On Xbox, naming it x can sometimes mess up the glitch, name it y instead, it will work every time. I’m not sure about on PlayStation or PC, I hope this helps.
There’s a easier way to duplicate the book and you only need to put a treadmill foram the workshop dlc and drop the book into it, then you call dogmeat to take it almost right before the machine puts the book in it’s inventory, then it is done, there is going to be two books, one inside of the machine inventory and the other in dogmeat’s mouth (he drops it right after grabbing).
Using dogmeat with a conveyor and storage still works to duplicate items. I think all the glitches that previously worked still do. The only thing the update did was add things in and just a performance upgrade. Some small fixes where it would crash or cause closing.
So. How I did this was with the Conveyor Belt Storage glitch. It worked before the next gen update but idk about now. It was a little finicky, sometimes they'd work, sometimes they wouldnt but I got all 10s in my special stats. I also used the idiot savant robot workbench xp glitch for my Ludacris amount of levels. I also also use the scrap dupe glitch for MASSIVE amounts of scrap for use. On top of that, I have EVERY SINGLE SETTLEMENT at my disposal linked to Red Rocket using bots so I can basically build anything anywhere I would want. I got bored real quick so I put down tons of mods, weapons, power armor overhaul, minor game tweaks, tons of stuff. It's really really fun.
Then there's the manufacturing glitch where you set up a circular manufacturing belt, a sorter, and a storage hopper. Once the special book has gone around this belt once try to grab it off the belt juuuust about when it is to enter the storage hopper but is still visible inside the opening of the hopper. At this point it is already considered inside the hopper but can also be found in your inventory. Now place this second copy on the belt and repeat ad infinitum. Voila, unlimited special books than can be used repeatedly.
Any weapon works btw also to get more special points you can get debuffs that lower your stats and get even more from this. I got 18 strenght 25 perception 22 endurance 17 charisma 22 intelligence 16 agility 20 luck Missing some bubble heads on top of this. Survival mode has lots of debufs from letting yourself die from dehydration, starving and never sleeping
Eso already talked about it, it isn't knuckles you need it can be anyeapon that you can mod and a lower case y also works because it has the same starting letter.
This still works after next gen update just make sure you your holding square ps or x on xbox when you scrap the item and it should switch to the book in upgrades section
Please note: if you have anything in your inventory that comes after "You're Special" alphabetically, you'll get that to appear instead. I did this halfway through my playthrough and got Zeta Invaders and Yum Yum Deviled Eggs to appear instead of the book
Reminds me of the skyrim glitch with the gods perk book where if on controller you read it with BOTH r2/t and X/A you could get 2 uses of it instead of one
OR. Get dogmeat to fetch it and pick it up at the same time as him. He will have 1 so will you effectively duping a new your special book as many times as you want to get all special perks
If you are playing on pc you can use the chat glitch. Press the ~ key to open the chat and write "player.modav [special stat you want to raise] 1" You can repeat it as many times as you like with every stat
You can legitimately get up to like 24-28 intelligence if you fully exploit in the right order, using this first, then the bobble head, and the geeks from the nuka world dlc, then any power armor and clothing, and then the perk of +2 at night I think, and anything else along the way however I’m still trying to figure out what other stats I can boost like crazy
There is more to this if you want to get the most out of it, first get all of your special stats to 10 and then go to survival mode, wait or sleep for six days, then get addicted to as many chems and alcohol drinks as possible and then use the book to get to lvl 10 special stats again and then use an addictol and eat and drink until you have no side effects and boom you will have stats above 10.
An easier way is to use the dogmeat item dupe glitch, it's a lot less complicated and doesn't require so much button timing that can be easily messed up.
If you have the workshop dlc you can infinitely duplicate them with a hopper if you click right as it hits the hopper there will be one in inventory and one in hopper.
You can use any weapons to dupe. If it already had modifiers, it will show another weapon but appear in the inventory. Drop and scrap rince and repeat.
A heads up hold the O or B buttons when doing it or it won't work. Also getas many debuffs as possible that lower special stats. Survival is a easy way to do this.
I just used the conveyor method. Much quicker when you account for how many times you're going to screw it up. Haven't done a play through since my very first without leaving sanctuary with max SPECIAL since
Na just make a circular conveyor belt (contraptions dlc) that has a storage and a hopper within eachother then place the book in the storage it should begin circling the belts try to pick it up just before it is sent back in storage and the book will dupe ( if you have one and one is in storage you did it right) put all dupes back in the storage conveyor and after a bit you will be able to max your stats then set it to survival and dont sleep or eat this will lower your stats use a chair to wait once you have max negative buffs you can do the dupe method again to get above 10 on certain stats
This didn't work for me on PC, the mods swction shows up blank. So, I did the conveyor duplicating glitch. Just a square with the vaccuum and storage back to back. Grab the item as it drops into storage. Have 94 special books atm. Took about 2 hours all up. Even duped the gold bars in the root cellar at sanctuary. Got to 30 bars before i stopped.
Beware that this is probably impossible on a higher level character because you probably have a lot of quest items that you cannot drop. I have some holotapes that I can't drop and I simply cannot do this glitch because of them
Players on keyboard: Am I gone to you? Yes you can press them both at ease. It’s not difficult. Only difference is they are next to each other. But you also have key-binds to do that too
lol I just did this on my husbands account. Mine has started crashing after the main menu and won’t work now! So I started a game on his since he doesn’t play and didn’t want to start with absolutely nothing. Trying to get all my favorite stuff back. Cross your fingers mine stops crashing.
Been trying the special thing on ps5 for an hour and my knuckles have yet to turn into a book, my inventory is empty as is my workshop and still nothing, I cant even get it to turn into steel anymore lmao
@lostfrown2216 a guy in the comments helped me by telling me to make a bobblehead stand and it worked for me! I also had a key and a holotape I couldn't drop and it still worked, don't make another mistake I made and make sure you have blacksmith level 1 and it should work, I was skeptical too but it worked finally.
I can't seem to get this to work on pc. I know people are going to say use the console command cheats or something else. But I wanna try to get this to work this way.
Nah i found the perfect special loadput for people who dont use vats so i literaally eint need another special point in any stat after the single one from that book
Now if only they would undo the final update so you could walk through downtown without the game crashing. I went to replay yhe game after years and found you can no longer walk to goodneighbor because the game crashes... Everytime. I even have the new gen of console vs playing on the old school xbone.
