It don't need to be fast it just needs to run constantly smooth and look at the production out put and cost ,why make it go faster and more likely to break down

Seems slow compared to a mobile unit like a Cord King, Hud-son, Timberwolf, Bell's Manufacturing.. but this seems more efficient long term perhaps, running year round?

thanks for posting! doesn't seem that efficient though. I see what look like timing delays between the slasher saw movements, the ram advancing the cut block to the splitting conveyor, and the log advancement; and poor sorting of fines and undersized pieces prior to loading in large firewood container. What then, it goes outside for heat treatment/drying? Or is that some sort of toxic gas like vicane? I hope it's not heat treatment into an uninsulated metal box. Then what, the treated wood goes through a trommel to be accumulated into another dumpster before packing? So money is invested in treating the wood before removing more waste wood from the stream? As I said: system appears to have many inefficiencies. Thanks for posting, though!

Oh, and the product looks almost fit for a cook stove, not a space-heating wood stove or fireplace. Maybe the houses are really small there. That firewood is very small 'diameter' pieces. it will burn pretty fast that way, not last long.

these are fresh felled logs. these are not treated. this wood is mostly dedacht for small stoves in the living room. In switzerland, most houses are heated with oil or gas. New buildings with heat pumps with geothermal probes or air. Oil and gas heaters should be completely banned from 2050. So it will probably be more pellets and wood heating.

12 seconds cut to cut wile operating , so 0.113 cubic m per cut ( assuming 60cm by 40 cm) in theory 300 cuts per hour realistically 150 to 200 cuts . So lets say 200 , so 22.6 solid Cubes an hour , There is approxly 3 solid CM of wood in a cord which is 5.09 loose cubic m so about 7.5 cords per hour or 38.34 loose cubes assuming value adding of $50 low ball to $100 per cube thats say $2000 per hour to $3500 per hour less running costs of probably $500 an hour with those dryers and trucks and and and , so if you have the customers 25-$50k profit a day depending on hours operated , but If I had 2-3million dollars outlayed id be running it 24 Hours

Big overhead just to make firewood. The electricity alone to run the mill (unless they are using fire wood) must be one big monthly bill.

+Norm Sawyer Who's to say they do or don't sell thousands and thousands of tonnes and maybe even source their own raw timber. I doubt they bought a machine like this blind

+TheWorldOnFly Good point. I was thinking more along the lines of the smaller saw mills I have seen that make lumber and the left over ruff cuts is cut up into fire wood and sold as a sideline.

He who designed this monster work could have done it in a much simpler way. He had collected ready-cut wood skis together and ready to be put in sacks or pallets right after the wood was split. Instead, he sends the wood skis out on a meaningless long trip that does not end in a different result than a large storage container that sooner or later must be repackaged into sacks or pallets.
