Now this is what I'm talking about. To truly know who is the better player, First-to-10 wins determines it. Tournaments are tough too but it doesn't tell you who truly is the best. You have 10 matches to win and show the world that you are better than that players. I wish we see more FT10 in Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter 6 and so on.
Ft10's are more important because the other player who is losing might be able to adapt and can better understand their opponent. A best three out of five bout is less likely to have that happen.
@@mostverticalproductions4808 Yea, FT10 truly shows who the best of the best are. I understand that tournaments must do FT2 and FT3 in the playoffs because of the amount of players joining but it doesn't prove who are the best. It's like playing 1 quarter in an NBA game rather than the whole 4 quarters. I dont see a lot of Tekken players doing FT10 battles and i think they don't do it is because they dont want to be figured out or they only care about money from tournaments. At the same time, I do give props to the 3rd strike players as well because a lot of them are playing with fighters that are mid to low tiers so when they lose badly, they do have disadvantages against them. Otherwise, I really dont care who are the best at tournaments but rather i want to see who are the best overall in FT10 battles.
It's all about different tastes and what both the players & the crowds prefer, whether we like it or not. On one hand, the FT10 format does sound like a good barometer for players to use and see who's the best of them all. On the other hand, they can potentially drag on for too long depending on the matchups and how they're unfolding before they reach their maximum limit and the crowd will eventually start to feel anxious and/or tired and they want to see its conlcusion. The FT5 format hits a happy medium between short and long series of matches -- it doesn't overstay its welcome, you can still get a satisfying outcome and the players can still perform at their best this way. But good luck trying to sell that to say, EVO or some other big tournaments in the North American territories. Most of the time, the FT3 format has been the go-to choice for them in years and trying to make a case for either FT5 OR FT10 is challenging, to say the least. You're better off seeing that kind of thing in Japan or other territories or even Fightcade that set up tourneys and leagues in either format.
@@chaosgreyblood FT10 for sure can drag on for too long as well. Either FT5 or FT7 is a sweet spot for sure. Then again, NBA, MLB and NHL all have FT4 games to determine the champions and they make money per game. Tournaments for sure can't do it but at least a FT3 wouldn't drag it out too long. Only leagues can do FT7 or FT10 and then do playoff rounds and then championship game. But we dont even need leagues to do it, the players themselves can just duke it out. But like i said, i think majority of them won't do it due to giving away their secrets and techniques. It's always Street Fighter players that do FT5, FT7 and FT10. I have never seen it happened in KOF, Tekken, MK, SC and even VF.
@@harryvuemedia5106 That's why I also mentioned Fightcade. I've seen matches for KOF 95 & 96 that go for the FT5 format, so it's definitely within the realm of possibility.
No fighting game needs an FT10 as badly as 3S to determine the better player in a match. There is too much about the opponents play style that you need to download and 3 to 5 matches just does not cut it.
Is it just me or does anyone thinks Hayao looks alot like that Sato guy(japanese imperial army)from the movie Ip Man 2008(Donnie Yen)....a younger version of him 😊
Uraken has no skill and plays with no honor...he spams air fireballs and demon flips all throughout the matches....Pikachu-Akuma would have brought an interesting and fair matches to Hayao.....otherwise punish that weasle Hayao !!!
