This bus sounds just like a Gillig transit bus from the early 1980s more than one from the late 1980s. Great video.

There was an RTS slopeback schoolie but unfortunately it exist as an 80's Hot Wheels toy.

This bus was a great idea and was executed the right way, only a lack of interest from districts could have sealed the coffin for the production line. Wonder what a BRT school bus would be like?
