this was a fun and well-made metal slug clone. me and my friends used to play it like crazy in school without our teachers knowing. don't think Erica was ever playable and nothing else exists after the first boss which is a shame. gameplay graphics and music are loyal to their source material. fun and nostalgic.
This is a pretty cool MS clone. Sure, it doesn't have much of the delightful pixel art animations as the real deal, but the soul is there, and using a frying pan is hilarious, a Conker tribute like, lolz.
Maybe in some Backwards Parallel universe, this is what we had for Metal Slug, who knows! Either way, yeah. It's surprisingly faithful. For a flash game, too even. That says a lot about the quality here.
Oh I remember playing this flash game, it was so much fun. Though I'm very sad that "Erica" still remains an unplayable character to this day unfortunately... 😞
I don't believe so, I always assumed she was meant for an update that never came out. I've been meaning to see if I can peek into the game's graphic data just to confirm if there's any other trace of her.
Bad news: Erica isn't even playable. I found an "hacked" version of the game giving you infinite life (link: www.hackedarcadegames.com/game/1081/New-Metal-Slug.html). I finished the hard mode and Erica remains locked. I solved one of my kid's mystery :(
Probably the creator of this game didn't do it anymore. I was waiting for her release but sadly, theres no really hope. But we can see her scratch illustration if you finish the game.
Best childhood game ever! But now it is no longer playable after 2020 was last year for Flash to live. Memories remembering forever nostalgic. I always wondered how will we ever get to play as "Erica" in this game but I think she was originally planned to be used and playable in the game but the creators however just couldn't get themselves enough time to use her in the gameplay or probably for unknown reasons had her removed from the game and they made her unavailable by just leaving her mugshot dimmed in the character select screen thus leaving "Leo" as the only playable character and main protagonist of this game as his face and game animation sprites are shown in the main menu and how to play menu but although her sprite animation holding a pistol is shown in hand drawn animation on white background in the credits however. This game only has one level and the enemies in this game are blue uniform rebel soldiers possibly German nazis, carnivorous flying fish and giant man eating spores then the boss battle is a giant robot ape. Leo's death sound is the same death sound for Miniclip's male commando guy in Commando 1, 2 and 3. I guess the 3rd difficulty level is the extreme hardest one that you can't manage to destroy the boss as it requires a lot of hits and damage to take and so the first difficulty is easy, second is normal and last is hard.
I once played game like this but the first mission is a on a rail, cant remember where i played it, i think this is actualy a downloadable game and the flash version is just a demo, i really want to know who and what is this game
Sinceramente pienso que a este fan Game inspirado en metal slug y los juegos Miniclip.com (comando) podría a ver se aprovechado aún más y es que para ser un juego flash muy simple que hasta cualquier experto en programar podría hacer en cuestión de semanas, hubiese sido interesante que al menos lo hubieran terminado como querían ya que en los artes conceptuales de este proyecto del 2005 muestran que también hubiesen habido más variantes de enemigos y hasta la inclusión de Erica cómo un personaje jugable más
