My husband had major dental work done in Algodones in 2004, at the time of this writing in 2019 he has had absolutely no problems. In fact the only problems with dental work has been the procedures that he had done in Canada! We've also had a Canadian dentist "decide" that my grandson needed to have an xray and fillings only after he found out it was going to be covered by insurance!! Don't tell me Mexico is the only place this happens, corruption is rampant throughout the dental system in Canada and the States. Before we retire, we are in fact planning on going to Mexico for another dental holiday :)
My dentist told me that overseas dentists are more experienced than US dentists because of litigation in the US. They're afraid to touch their patients because of that. Some US dentists get their training overseas and return back home so that they can be more confident in their work. He described a colleague dentist who went to China for training at a hospital and came back to the US with the level of experience and confidence he can't get here in the US. Talking about botched jobs. How about here in the US? I've had 3 root canals done 15 years ago by a young dentist. 2 of the 3 root canals failed. The success rate of root canals should be over 95%. I was told by another dentist that he's done an awful job. I found him through a dental discount plan where inexperienced dentists like him find patients to get more experience. Then two years ago I had one of the failed root canals redone by a dentist who was an instructor at a well-known dental school here in NYC. That one failed again so now I need to have an implant.
I went to mexico and had my dental work done. I saved alot of money. but more importantly the quality of the dental work was better than I received in the united states. I was concerned about the sterilization of the dental equipment so I had my blood work checked manytimes since I had the work done. I got no diseases. I think that as long as you are careful to go to a reputable dental clinic in mexico you should be ok just like here in the united states. as a matter of fact my brother is a polce officer in a medium sized us city and all the officers used the same dentist pursuant to his dental insurance and the dentist they used was a quack and all of my brothers fillings fell out and many other officers had the same problems before it was discovered the dentist was a quack and had his license revoked.
Re: quack dentist. When I used my husband’s union insurance the dentist was awful! My crown fell off, my bite was affected. This was about 2 years ago. Guess what? I’m doing research because too many people I know are saving thousands to have work that is better than wat hey received in the U.S.
@@aggierowe9574 Yes! Me too. I'm looking to take a "Dental Vacation" in the next 3 to 6 months. So I'm doing my research now. If you don't mind will you comment back here to update on your research and what you decide.
