The Mafioso in their cells casually reading the papers made me laugh. Civilians would be crying and pissing their pants, these guys are just interested in how the Palermo game went last night.
Organized crime enables the less organized groups, crooked politicians, law enforcement, etc. Not just Cosa Nostra. The cartels (reportedly) work with the government & certain politicians. They enable them to smuggle narcotics and run human trafficking rings, without any consequences. Everything is tied together.
