The awful history of this state makes me ashamed to be an Arkansan sometimes. The way black people have been treated throughout the history of this country is appalling. 😔
While only one side of the story is often portrayed, there were other issues behind the conflict that may have little to do with ones skin color. The tension and fighting began from both sides and escalated into the ugliness that led to the decision to prevent further conflicts in the name of public safety. So no, they were not turned away because the school was racist, but concerns for the safety of students including theirs.
