Hi welcome back to Raymond's Kitchen! Lunar New Year na in a few days and today I am going to teach you how to make Tikoy (popular during Lunar New Year). This tikoy recipe is from Quezon provice. Shout to my boardmates, the 19-C Grovers especially kay Ryan Quilala who used to bring us tikoy from Sariaya, Quezon. Napakadali lang gawin nito, all we have to do is to mix all the ingredients and steam.
Here are the ingredients:
2 cups of glutinous flour
1/3 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 can evaporated milk
1 can condensed milk
1/2 cup of melted butter
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
Combine glutoius rice flour, white sugar and salt. Pour in the evaporated and condensed milk and mix by hand using a wire whisk. Add in melted butter and blend well till you get a nice, smooth, even consistency. Lastly add in the grated cheddar cheese and incorporate into the mixture.
Grease 2 630 ml glass containers/molders with butter and pour in the mixture. Cover with foil and place in the steamer basket.
Steam for 45 to 60 minutes or until set.
Cool to room temperature and slice.
This tikoy can be eaten readily, no frying needed as compared to the classic tikoy. Enjoy!
Thank you for watching Raymond's Kitchen!
