I read an interview once where that was her nickname all throughout her life and she basically considered that her name. Her real name she said was just on paper but she always went by Dove since she can remember.
"My father always called me Dove," she replied. "He took his own life when I was 15. I didn't get to say goodbye, so I changed it in honor of him.” That’s what dove said in a interview.
how to kill hyram: 1- do DIY skincare 2- use products with fragrance 3- don’t use sunscreen 4- ignore the moisturizer 5- use a scrub more than once a week
Once Hyram becomes famous and makes his own skincare line, we could comment: “Only OGs will remember when he used to react to people’s skincare routines”
True, but there are different grades and quality of raw materials. For instance, Barbara Sturm uses different molecular weight hyaluronic acid to deliver benefits to different layers of the skin. Definitely doesn't justify a $300 price tag, but sometimes it is worth to pay a little more for a product. Just a perspective from a cosmetic chemist. For anyone interested in ingredient, formula and product reviews and all about skincare, I'm on Instagram @labcoatcosmetics.
I literally just use the simple cleanser/makeup remover to remove makeup. I then use the simple cream cleanser thing and the moisture by them. It works for me 😂😂i get like 3 pimples at one time at the most
If you’re new here: - we don’t do makeup wipes - if you wear makeup think about double cleanse - no products with fragrance - diy skincare is a big NONO - Eye creams are expensive moisturizers - Sunscreen!!! Every. Single. Day - Chemical exfoliators >>>>>>> - YES to Naicinamide - (Drying) Alcohol in ingredients = DON’T BUY - No raw coconut oil on skin! If you do you’re choosing death - We like ‘The Ordinary’ and ‘CeraVe’ -We also stan ‘The Inkey list’ - Always moisturize (even if u have oily skin) - We need to take down St. Ives - We do shoulder shakes daily ;)
IKR like even Hyram was shocked at the cleansing oil that was $83 but he was more chill with the $300 serum and I'm like WTF 300 DOLLARS I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW U CAN SPEND THAT MUCH ON A SERUM
RIGHT 💕 I already watched the video of Dove’s skin care routine when it came out and Chile I was shocked 😭✋ Bro Dove is rich rich rich 💕 I’m a OG fan of Dove
Hyram: "When I see someone using a very similar concept, a very similar design, a very similar philosophy, and charging that high of a markup, at what point do we call it immoral?" Now THAT is the tea.
ew he is promoting the centella cream behind him which has 3 different essential oils and what not. He doesn’t know shit about skin care and literally just hates on women.
It's her money she can spend how much ever she wants on skincare . She is not asking you to buy the products or to follow he skincare routine . She is just showing them.
@@bianca-cs1dt Well if she sees this I think she would care more about the quality of the ingredients rather than the price, so she would definitely appreciate the advice of getting the same or even higher quality skin care for less money.
How to kill hyram - use diy skin care -don’t use a moisturizer -use the saint Ives apricot scrub with a coffee scrub - use makeup wipes - use tons of fragrance - don’t use sunscreen 😂
Her skin care routine is how much I get paid over 8 months from teaching 3-7 year olds dance EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE. I’m 13.. her routine price point is my dream! 😂😍
you know something I wish celebrities would talk about is treatments that they get on their skin outside of just their day to day routine because when I see amazing skin and a not so great routine I feel like it must be relevant.....
You also gotta consider that some people just have naturally good/clear skin due to genetics. Also people like her with naturally dry skin tend to not have issues like acne and large pores (not always but often) and the majority of skin products are designed for people with dry skin/it is easier to formulate occlusive, moisturizing products than it is light, oily-skin-friendly products. But yeah, genetics play a big part. But often if you have good, dryer skin when you’re young, it’ll suffer when you are older. Wheras if you have oily skin when you’re young, you probably wont develop early wrinkles and your skin will benefit when you’re older -shrug-
I hate when companies don’t disclose ingredients! A lot of “natural” and wellness brands don’t tell you the ingredients in their products - don’t buy in to greenwashing and misleading advertising!!
You should react to Lucy Hale’s skin care routine, she did it with Vogue about 2 days ago. And I can tell you’re not going to like some of the things she does 😂
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha I laughed till I died
This might be uninteresting to some people, but I would love it if you did “the ABCs of skincare ingredients.” Or top 10-15 skincare ingredients to watch out for both good & bad. Hearing you talk about all these hard to pronounce ingredients and why they’re good/bad is super interesting & I’d love to have Prof. Hyram school us.
I would love if he made a video dedicated to hidden fragrance and the different names of fragrance. I'm super sensitive to fragrance so trying new skincare is like stepping in a minefield trying to find something that doesn't irritate my eyes or skin.
A fact for you all: Her real name was Chloe Celeste Hosterman and her dad wanted to call her Dove but her mom called her Chloe but when her dad died she changed her name to Dove Cameron in remeberance of her father! And she has one amazing memory out of them all- a café her and her dad used to go to and she goes there everyday on his birthday 🤧🥺🥰
Shu Uemura is a J-Beauty company, Shu was the “creator” of the cleansing oils in the market. They exist since de 80’s and in Asia is one of the most famous brands and their cleansing oils are always best sellers!
I think the $83 is for the big one (400ml above, at least the one she is holding is big), which if you actually see that, it is in a huge can. Not that I am saying it is not expensive, but if you can, it is totally worth it.
I was born in Asia and Shu Uemura was pretty much everywhere from tv ads to magazines. I'm a bit surprised that he has not heard of it, but yeah, I used to follow a RU-vidr who used their cleansing oils too.
I adore shu Uemura cleansing oil. Especially the sublime version, it has so many nourishing ingredients and it’s advertised to be use without a water base cleanser.

So hyram, you said “who names their kid dove” well not her parents, her actual name is Chloe Cameron, but her dad died when she was little, and he loved doves, so she made her stage name Dove Cameron in memory of her father
Not trying to be rude but that’s completely wrong. Her real name is Chloe Celeste Hosterman, and her dad called her dove all the time, so after he died she changed that to her legal first name.
Yes but remember that he said for such simple ingredients, so if he does that don’t hate on him if some of his products are that expensive, as long as with that price point he makes up for it in quality
He’s not a certified dermatologist. He can’t give those recommendations, because he doesn’t really understand what would really work for another person’s skin. All his recommendations, are based of what works for him. Dermatologists or even estheticians have a better understanding of the nature of the skin and biology. You do know that his title of Specialist does not make sense because he’s not licensed in any way.
Here’s a fact about Dove Cameron’s name: Her real name is Chloe, but when her father committed suicide, when she was 15, she changed her name to Dove, because it’s what he would always call her :) Edit: just because you know that, doesn’t mean that others don’t. It’s useless to comment saying that you already knew that, I know a lot of people know it, but some people don’t. So if your going to comment please don’t say that you already knew that. Writing a rude comment when I’m just trying to give out a fact, is unnecessary and very rude. You know who you are, and I wasn’t trying to be your ‘google’ so think about what your going to say and how it’s going to affect other people before you say it, there’s no need to be rude about it.
I’m 95% sure that she changed her name to Dove after her father committed suicide. In one of her tweets she said "My father always called me Dove, He took his own life when I was 15. I didn't get to say goodbye, so I changed it in honor of him." After someone asked her why she changed her name.
@@Scarletttt___ Well unless he died and came back to life she's lying, there's a yearbook from 2010 and she is named Dove Cameron under her picture, if she wanted to honor her father she would've kept his family name as well.
austin bevis that’s so rude, Hyram always says you don’t hate on others skin. Even if you don’t like James Charles doesn’t mean you can say things like that.
@@jana662 I’m not trying to speak for him, he talks about it at 13:07. I think he was just making a point about how just drinking water isn’t going to clear your skin if you are a person who struggles with acne
Hey, when it works, it works. Almost all of my shirts are navy blue 😅 it's actually hard to find certain cuts sometimes. Less to think about, and therefore more focus for what matters. When you find something that works, stick with it and you'll have more space for new intakes. 🤟🏼🤙🏼
When Dove slaps her skin, that could be a variation of a method of tapotement, which is a massage technique often used in facials to increase bloodflow and invigorate the skin. -cosmetologist
Yes definitely could be increasing circulation to bring bloodflow to the skin which does have skin benefits! By the way, I'm a cosmetic chemist and would love it if you'd check out my Insta @labcoatcosmetics for skincare tips, ingredients, formula and product reviews.
Hahahah. Interesting to hear Hyrams comment, I had a human anatomy professor that said working facial muscles helps keep the skin tight. I’d be interested to know why Hyram says extreme facial expression ages the skin
@@brooklynharvey3278 i think it's just because when you make extreme facial expressions, your skin creases. the more your skin creases the more chance for wrinkles to "stick", especially if you don't have a good skincare routine
All my friends: * using expensive lips balms with pure shit ingredients * Me: * uses lip balm I got at a horse show that surprisingly has good ingredients *
as a person who grew up in east asia, shu uemura cleansing oil has always been known to be a one step cleanser (no need to double cleanse), hope this might clarify for many of us used to the double cleansing method! ❤️
I’m a licensed esthetician, the “wake up the skin” concept I think could literally come from a common way to end a facial with tapotement massage which is just tapping on the skin like a drum, it is to promote blood flow i believe but it’s also mainly used to literally wake up your client and signal the end of the treatment 😂
Hi! Since you’re a esthetician, would you mind letting me know what kind of sunscreen to wear? I’m in Virginia and it’s summer, so I know I should wear some, but I’ve never really thought about daily. Also toner lol
a b b i e hi : ) sorry I just saw I had a reply on this comment! I buy drug store sunscreen because it all just comes off in the water anyway (the key is remembering to reapply!) My favorite is Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Sunscreen. That sounds weird but I promise you I have found products that are intended for children are much safer and more effective *most of the the time*. Coppertone kids once gave my dad chemical burns! I manly like to make sure a sunscreen protects against UVA and UVB rays, also anything that says it’s higher than spf 50 is a scam. always go for the lotion instead of the spray. 1 you get more product 2 you can properly work it into the skin. I’m an odd gal and read the ingredients in EVERYTHING! Always look for titanium dioxide or zinc oxide as the active ingredient. You’ll notice a lot of makeup products contain these without even advertising that the product contains spf. It’s probably not much protection but it’s helpful to know those ingredients are in your makeup bag too. Sorry this was so long but hope it helps you at the store : )
a b b i e as for a toner, I am a weirdo and make my own with rose petals it’s my great great grandmas recipe that no one in the beauty community would say is trendy or most effective but it’s what she used her whole life and she was gorgeous and it’s completely natural. I sell it on my Etsy store CAYLiNz : )
New title: *Dove Cameron giving Hyram a heart attack for 17 minutes* edit: why are y’all liking this comment? it’s so unoriginal why are y’all liking it
Its more about the long run than on the short one, sunscreen helps with aging and also it helps with uv (idk how to spell that last one sorry) I started using sunscreens just a few years ago and i defenitely see improvements!
The way that you talk about the importance of sustainability and affordability on your channel is so important! I really appreciate your use of this platform to speak truth on these topics.
You’re the reason why I’m not scared of salicylic acid. I was scared to use it bc I didn’t know how!! But it’s been like two weeks since using it and I’ve seen tremendous progress!!! Pores, scars, redness, texture: it’s has all improved. Thank you for being a great educator ❤️
I started using the AHA and BHA exfoliate from the ordinary (don’t use it all the time) but my face looks smoother and I have less ache My skin seems happier Hyram is the best 🖤
Can I ask what is the difference between niacinamide and salicylic acid 2%? Cause niacinamide has it as second ingredient. Sorry for dumb question im new
As someone who has eczema, I used the Shu Uemura cleanser and I can vouch for it!! That cleanser really helped cleared up the eczema on my face and out of so many cleansers I have tried, this is really the one for my skin.
This is no criticism of Hyram, cause he is for sure not the only one who has said it, but as someone who has eczema and is prone to incredible dryness and sensitivity, cleansers really do matter. I've used some that have caused redness and irritation, some that have dried me out, and others that actually cleanse my skin and leave it soft.
I’ve never heard of this cleanser but as someone with skin allergies and eczema, I have definitely run into issues with cult favorites like cerave hydrating cleanser. If I’m exposed to a skin allergen, I definitely need a cleanser that will actually cleanse my skin. I’m too afraid to use oil cleansers though. I’ve been burned too many times 😭
I feel like my skin is gonna be my biggest flex when I’m an old woman LMAO because I’ve been big into skincare since I was like 15/16, I’ve never cared about being tan so I stay out of the sun a lot more than most people my age (still wear sunscreen every day tho), I’ll never smoke or drink alcohol for a number of reasons, and I already get told I look way younger than I really am. I’m about to enter my 20s looking 12 but I’ll be the one laughing when I’m 50 looking 30 ;)
I didn't know anything about skincare until I was 20. There was minimal info online about it and no one else my age was well versed in skincare. Now there's SO much more information and I wish this had been more readily available to my teenage self.
